Only way to cruise!

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Star Breeze

We spent 7 days on the beautiful Star Breeze and were totally spoiled. The crew is very friendly, service is amazing, food is delicious and the cabins are big and beautiful. We did the Naturally Costa Rica cruise and had to take zodiacs to shore. Most were wet landings where we stepped off the zodiac into water on a sandy beach. This was easy for us as we are relatively young and mobile. This was ...

Lovely cruise with great staff and friendly travelers

This was our 3rd Windstar cruise - the other 2 being in Europe. We enjoy the small ship atmosphere and have been very pleased with the level of service and casual elegance of the Windstar experience. This ship was full with 144 passengers, I believe, and 99 crew. This cruise started in Barbados with a fast and easy embarkation and a sunset departure that brought most everyone up to the deck to ...

This was our first small ship experience and we loved it. I was a little worried about not having a balcony but come to find out on a small ship it is just one flight of steps to sitting outside. The cabin had enough storage and space. The outdoor area is large with a bar and also set up in the morning for a continental breakfast. Very small pool and hot tub. The food and service was ...

Panama and Costa Rica

I chose this cruise because I wanted to go to the areas along the Costa Rica Pacific coast that can be difficult to get to otherwise. Our opinions are probably colored with the horrible treatment from the Windstar headquarters, originally scheduled the cruise for last year but boat ran aground, they waited 2 1/2 weeks to inform us that our cruise was cancelled so it was just 2 days before our ...

Paradise: For Better and For Worse

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Wind Spirit

A Tahiti/French Polynesia cruise has been on my bucket list ever since Windstar initiated this itinerary. I'm a solo cruiser and particularly enjoy the Windstar cruises because of the more intimate, convivial feeling with a relatively small passenger size--about 130 in this case. Not an inexpensive trip for a single, but worth it. Embarkation was smooth. SHIP: Delightful 4-masted motor ...

10 Boring Days on the Wind Spirit

My wife and I selected this cruise because it had good reviews and was in the area where we wanted to do a cruise, being Tahiti and French Polynesia. Our only other cruise experiences are just two, a 4-day Blue Lagoon cruise in Fiji and a 15-day Viking River Cruise in Europe, which were both much better than this one. We started the 10-day cruise in Papeete on 13 Jan 2017, Tahiti. It rained hard ...

Not a lot of activities but relaxing

I selected this cruise because I wanted to go through the Panama Canal. I also liked the idea of a small ship. Fortunately my friend and I were upgraded to a suite, which was very nice. All in all I found it very relaxing. This is not one of the large ships with all kinds of activities, so be prepared to entertain yourself. The Wi-Fi was very expensive and for those who purchased the ...

This was our 1st cruise on a smaller ship. Really liked the size vs.the bigger ships. Windstar was 1st class from beginning to end. Personnel were friendly, polite, professional and fun. Food was excellent. Excursions were accurately described and fairly priced. The Sports Deck off the rear of the ship is an extra bonus and very enjoyable. The day on the private island was fun; and the deck ...

Wonderful!

This was super fun! The ship is small, I think 190 or so passengers, and nearly a 1-1 ratio crew. It is wonderful, watching the anchor lift up, and then the music starting, as the beautiful sails slowly unfold, and we get underway. you can’t really go wrong, with a friendly, helpful, cheerful crew, good food all day, and service, and the SEA! The magnificent, ever changing sea and sky! The ...

We took this cruise to get a chance to travel with friends and not have to deal with the crowds on the giant ships. And we did have a GREAT time with our friends! With so few passengers and so many crew, you get a chance to get to know other travelers and you also receive EXCELLENT service! Never again will we choose the big ships. No lines at all from start to finish. There were ...
