Overall, the ship was clean and the staff was friendly. We stayed in a junior suite room and it was very spacious. We traveled with 2 little ones, ages 1 and 3. We were under the impression that there would be things for them to do. This is not a family friendly ship. My son who is 3, was not able to attend the aquanauts because he is potty trained but not able to get on the potty by himself and needs assistance. He has to go into the infant room with our daughter. We also weren’t allowed to take our 1 year old in the pool because she isn’t potty trained. They had no other kid friendly pools or waterslides for them. Perfect for adults but not for kids. The childcare was awesome and the staff were super friendly! My only complaint is the hours of operation. They are only open a few hours in the morning and 6-12pm. They had no afternoon hours which I wish we knew prior to booking this ship. We did a shore excursion to the Atlantis which we paid a lot of money for. Getting off the ship to head to the Atlantis was a disaster. We had to wait in a long line with 2 little kids to get on buses over to the resort. They close the kid water playground at 12 and 3 for 15-minute cleaning. Some kid pooped in the pool and my son had only 10 minutes of play the whole time we were there because they closed it down for the day. The aquarium was awesome! Getting on and off the ship was pretty easy. My husband and I took advantage of getting massage at the spa. It was not what I expected. It looked worn down and they did not have any pools, saunas, ect. The services were very pricey for what we received. My actual massage was great. The therapist took me back 11 minutes late and ended 8 minutes early leaving me with a 40-45 minute service that was suppose to be 50 minutes. I complained to the manager who argued with me that her therapist said the service was 50 minutes. She told me that my phone time was wrong. I told her I checked the time as my husband went back on time and finished about 10 minutes after me. She chalked it up to his therapist being a “snail” and “sooooo slow”. She offered my 10% off my service but I never received a refund. Overall, the ship is nice, staff is great and food was awesome. I would NOT take a family on this cruise. For couples, young people or single people only. Read Less

We are avid cruisers. Platinum Carnival, Princess, and RCL. This ship by far is the poorest designed ship this cruiser has ever experienced. We sailed on her when she first started in Miami and decided to give her another chance now that she has been in the system a while. First Matt, the cruise director is outstanding! Does what he can with what he has. Embarkation, outstanding, best ever seen. Room steward, probably the worst. Arrived at stateroom, no refrigerator, no life jackets, called pursers desk, purser argued with my wife about refrigerator being there “you just need to look in cabinet”. Reconfirmed life jackets missing, looked under bed for life jackets where they should be located now and confirmed that they were missing. Room steward met us in hallway and said refrigerator is on the way and life jackets are under the bed. I assured him that they were not. He asked if we wanted morning or evening service, I said both. He repeated morning OR evening service. My wife said evening is fine, New change in policy? I confirmed that it was not. Atrium music cancelled first night, no explanation. Atrium floor design bad for dancing, major thoroughfare for bartenders, photographers, and fellow cruisers. Also large support beam in middle of floor. Shows, main theater very poor design. Large beams block view of anyone lucky enough to get a seat. Seats on back row do not provide height to see over seats in front. Dancers were good, singing.... voices did not compliment each other. Comedy show, too small a venue, no seating 3 out of 4 shows arriving 20 minutes prior. Dancing, two floors suitable for dancing, Havana Bar and Ocean Plaza. Limelight lounge a impromptu floor, small and inadequate. Havana bar, small, good for Salsa, Rumba, and cha cha if no one else is dancing, band good. Ocean plaza, farmer band played polka after polka, only one beat. Voices did not compliment each other. Other band was good sometimes accompanied by three piece horns. Wednesday night singers didn’t show due to illness. Thursday night singers didn’t show for country but did show up later for Motown. No scale in fitness center. Was told that it’s use was only available during spa treatments. Food was adequate during cruise but had dropped in quality since last on vista. Carnival Magic and Dream are much better ships! We have cruised over 20 times at least 10 with NCL. The Escape is beautiful, but service is very erratic and not consistent. Waited 14 hours to get room cleaned after after emergency on ship. I needed to use a food tray to push all the broken glass to the side so we could walk to bathroom and get out of our cabin. Evacuation details posted on inside state room door has wrong information. They have no safety vest in the room. They are now stored elsewhere. When we followed directions crew told us to turn around and go in opposite direction which added ten minutes time to get to our station. This was brought up to staff and has not been addressed. Restaurant service staff is poor and slow. Did not bring what was ordered, , also we needed to keep asking staff for our order and for beverages. Food temperatures were consistently cold and under the required 160 degree safe food standards. We waited over an hour after we were seated and order was placed for our food to be served. Other people we talked with waited even longer. The premium restaurants had great food and great staff. Entertainment was excellent . Everything now has additional charges. It would be much better if they included everything and be upfront like other cruised do. We sailed out of NYC March 3, 2019. We still have not received a call from NCL regarding the cruise. Read Less

Been on this cruise 6 times. To us it us a nothing cruise. Just to relax. Food is good. The show's are not great. The comedy club is the best. Private island is nice. NASSAU is ok if u have never been there. JUNKOO beach is just a walk out of town. Lounge chair and food vendors for minimal charge. Nice clean beach. Food vendors selling food. Freeport is to short. Love the enclosed pool for the first day. Depending on the weather u can use the second pool which is outside. Nighttime movie under the stars is nice. Cabins are clean and the staff take care of u. The last day they put towel animals all around the pool. Really cute. They do St Jude donations with either tshirts or bears. Will be doing this cruise again as the port is ok n li u 2hrs drive. Cheap parking. Read Less

We are frequent cruises and lower our expectations when necessary. The ship itself was well maintained and the food was good. Guys burgers were awesome! Room service was also very good and had many free options and the pay options were not pricey. Our room location was horrible. We were right above the metal machine shop where very loud grinding, hammering of metal and clinking continues from 7:30 am until after supper every day. I was really sick with a head cold and could not rest even with ear plugs. They offered us 150 credit at the ships shops. We got badly sunburned and the ships shop did not have any aloe or ointments to help. The cabin steward accidentally threw out a retainer that was on the bathroom shelf. It will be 500 to replace it. We are in our forties and really appreciate our afternoon rests and peace and quiet but there was none in our room. Read Less

Another great cruise on RCL. We had a four night dining package which may or may not have been excessive;) Kids liked Adventure Ocean and Optix, the teen club. Great service from all we encountered! I was worried we wouldn’t like this ship as much after taking two trips on the Harmony but I was pleasantly surprised and reminded of why people sometimes choose smaller ships- ease of getting around! The pools were never too busy and the kids area wasn’t ever too crowded for my kids. They loved the flow rider and the water slides. I’m glad RCL has added those slides to even these smaller ships. This is the second time we have done this itinerary, four stops in a row with 8 days total. It’s my favorite... now we are ready to go longer than 8 days!! The food everywhere was great, in my opinion. The pastry chefs knew what they were doing! Chops Grille needs more kid friendly options for appetizers though. All the servers in the main dining room and specialty restaurants were so kind to my girls, it was very sweet. All in all I would 100% recommend this cruise to anyone. Read Less

Sailed with 15 ladies. My first experience, definitely not my last. I enjoyed every moment . I had plenty fun and also my quiet moments , whereby I just sat down and watch the chefs and waiters doing their appointed tasks , amazing -making all those dozens' of pizzas, salads , food , everything so detailed and seeing them doing it with such joy , made me appreciate life, food and my own job. Restaurants are amazing , food is of excellent good quality . I find the food (including , veggies , fruit and salads )to be very healthy, and tasty. the children clubs were also amazing, ( my grandson will definitely join me on the next cruise!)The youth entertainment was amazing, fun, energetic, I just had a ball joining in. The cruise rekindled that youthful, energetic, grateful feeling in myself . I also enjoyed the island visits, On the island-POMENE- my heart went out to the kids begging for food whist we had plenty to eat ( IT WAS A HUGE CHALLENGE ) Thanks to this cruise , I overcame my fear of sailing Much appreciated Will be back soon! Restaurants were good but the buffet food was bland and not good. We found ourselves purchasing dinner for a good meal. The gym was nice but you had to purchase spa access for $200 to enjoy a steam or sauna. There was no complimentary water and every water fountain has a do not fill your water bottle sign even in the gym. Very little entertainment poolside, slow or absent service. The only show we were interested (Rock of Ages) was cancelled. Lastly, my wife could not use her blow dryer or flat iron without blowing a cabin fuse which would take an hour to get fixed and room service was delevered very slowly and with an 8 dollar charge. We enjoyed ourselves on the cruise and will cruise again. We likely will choose another line that we have cruised in the past. RC and Carnival were more to our liking. Read Less
