Review for a Cuba Cruise on Azamara Journey

We chose this short, six-night Azamara cruise for several reasons: First, although we prefer longer cruises, two weeks or more, we faced some time limitations this trip, including work obligations and also meeting family and friends afterward for some spring training baseball games; second, we had heard some very good reports on Azamara from friends who really enjoyed the casual, small-ship ...

Elegant, small ship cruising

We just returned from Azamara Journey Cuba/Cozumel. I thought the ship was meticulously maintained by a wonderful, cheerful staff who could not do enough for you. I think I observed only 1 sourpuss the entire cruise, and that was at breakfast. Maybe she wasn't a morning person...I also liked the ship décor which was very European instead of the new bland, grey millennial style. I understand ...

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Viking Star

WE wanted to see many places in order to have a good taste of Italy and other beautiful places. Everything from the food to the service and entertainment was excellent. The only negative was dangerous stairs leading into the wave pool. They were unsteady and usafe. A traveler we met slipped on those stairs and sliced her leg clear to the muscle causing pain and inconvenience as she missed ...

Catastrophe at Sea

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Sky

This beautiful ship with a great service crew FAILED TERRIBLY ON MULTIPLE LEVELS at sea during a storm we should never have been in. Prior to the mayday we noticed several things that we found “sloppy” or unusual for a top cruise ship. The lights on the ship continually flickered and a huge banging sound continued for 30’hours prior to the engine failure. The crew was amazing, but handicap auto ...

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Wind Spirit

We had sailed on the Wind Star in Costa Rica a few years ago and were impressed. The Wind Spirit experience was even better. At the end of the cruise, the disembarking guests were hugging the crew members, something I had never seen on any other cruise. It felt like we had actually become friends during the 11 days on board. We had exchanged stories about families, careers, and felt we got to ...

From an amazing arctic journey to one of the scariest experiences of my life

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Sky

The itinerary looked really interesting. We've looked at Northern Lights trips before, but this one was too intriguing to pass up, especially having never been to Norway or on Viking. I must agree with what was said about the carpet squares in another review, and most certainly a BIG, more like HUGE question arises as to whether or not we should have been sailing on 3/23 when a few other ships ...

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

We chose a 3 night Sydney - Burnie - Melbourne cruise as a sampler and introduction to Cunard cruising. Embarkation was reasonably painless. We arrived a little earlier than the allocated boarding time and was told to board anyway. We dropped off bags, queued for about 15 minutes and then found ourselves on-board. Finding our cabin was easy as we were escorted by our cabin steward who did a ...

This was our first non mega ship cruise. We usually go on the new ships the smallest was the Disney Dream .Having sailed around Cuba so many times and seeing the lights in the distance. This was our chance to visit. To compare is not easy. I think it’s where you are in life and what your looking for. If you want a nice peaceful cruise with a crew who really is happy to take care of you.If you ...

Went with a big group from my country club development. The pros were that the size of the ship was very manageable and easy to navigate, no lines or waiting for anything. Staff were friendly and helpful and willing to go above and beyond. Had a standard outside stateroom with window that was small but adequate. Best restaurant was Aquilina by a long shot. The spa was decent The cons are a bit ...
