Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Liberty of the Seas

This was my first experience on a cruise. Unfortunately, we booked 3 excursions ahead of time that were offered on the website and all 3 were cancelled. Last minute we booked a excursion to the blue lagoon and I felt like I was robbed because it was expensive, then we should have depart at 10:30 from the deck, we arrived at almost noon and have to come back at 3:15pm. That was a wast of money ...

Loved the land portion, the boat's a bore

Review for a Asia Cruise on Diamond Princess

Japan and busan were delightful, but this boat is a bore! most of the entertainment has been soloists - a juggler, a magician, a pianist, a harmonica player - and this is in the main theater! the ship is small and there aren't many options provided. the same two violinists, one pianist and a small band rotating around doing the same songs over and over. the food has been unimpressive. some ...

Traditional Italian small ship cruising

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Sinfonia

User Avatar

2-5 Cruises • Age 50s

MSC Sinfonia is one of the oldest ships in the fleet, so don't book for the things it doesn't have, such as Yacht club, speciality dining, robot bartenders, water slides, and big production shows. Book for the destination ports and value for money. The ship was on a continuous circular Eastern Mediterranean itinerary catering predominately for the Italian market, but with many other Europeans ...

First and last experience with ’ultra’ luxury line

Review for a Asia Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

User Avatar

2-5 Cruises • Age 30s

Overall, while we enjoyed our vacation, the on-board experience of the RSSC explorer failed to live up to the hype of an ‘ultra’ luxury cruise line and we will be unlikely to book again. Dining: Specialty dining was an exception to our general experience, generally being outstanding on this cruise. Service and food quality in these venues was markedly superior to main dining (Compass Rose) and ...

Not Well Maintained Ship!

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Celebrity Summit

User Avatar

First Time Cruiser • Age 40s

We took a cruise to celebrate Spring Break. We departed from Miami Terminal G. Upon first arrival in the terminal, the age and lack of cleanliness were apparently going to foreshadow the remainder of the trip. While everyone in the terminal was very nice, it just was not up to the Celebrity status that we have come accustomed to. Our first stop was in Key West which did go smoothly. It was ...

Mediocrity at a huge price

Review for a Asia Cruise on Riviera

User Avatar
DNot a fan of mediocrity
First Time Cruiser • Age 70s

While the staff and service was excellent, the very expensive excursions were mediocre at best. Staff was very attentive and pleasant. Considering the price of the cruise itself, $800 for a drink package is outrageous. While the food in the specialty restaurants was excellent, the food in the main restaurant was mediocre as well. Difficult to make reservations in specialty restaurants. Buffet was ...

Never again

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

Main dining room food terrible, long waits. Specially dining, food and staff very good. Have to beg for ice for the room , even after tipping Stewart when we came on board, They use to just put ice in your room at night. The Weather conditions changed our itinerary, not their fault. But I tried to cancel an excursion, I found out the Cavens had over 100 steps, since I bought the tickets awhile ...

Had an Epic time, but there were some flaws

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Epic

User Avatar

Our family just completed a 7-day Western Caribbean Cruise on the Epic, which was also our first NCL cruise. Prior to boarding, I was absolutely terrified having read all of the recent negative reviews. Having completed the cruise, I must say the Epic gets more criticism than it deserves. Let's start with the bad: We had a later board time (I was late doing the online check-in), and ...

Oceania Regatta - Time For A break

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Regatta

User Avatar

We are avid travellers and have been on numerous cruises including many with Oceania. Here's an overview of our most recent cruise with Oceania on the ship Regatta. The food is very good when it comes to your table hot. There were a few times in the dining room when the food was luke warm and we were served food on plates and bowls that were chipped or damaged. The buffet food is hit or ...

The Good (lots of it) and sadly the Bad

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Crown Princess

User Avatar

Embarkation: VERY GOOD. We were on the ship within 25 minutes of dropping off our bags. Note for when sailing out of San Francisco, the port is off The Embarcadero and there was heavy traffic getting to the pier. We made the mistake of dropping off our luggage on the street a block south of the pier because of the traffic. If we had waited 5-10 more minutes, we could have dropped it off ...
