Disappointing cruise due to poor communication

Review for Alaskan Dream to Alaska

2,145.49 7-day 2021 Alaska's Glacier Bay & Island Adventure cruise (Juneau to Sitka) with Alaskan Dream Cruises on the 104’ Alaskan Dream catamaran. We frequently cruise. This was not one of our favorites. The shoreside support pre-cruise was very lacking. Information provided to me in March regarding the duration we would spend at Mendenhall Giacier was inaccurate. I had been emailed that it ...

Finally back cruising!

Review for Adventure of the Seas to Caribbean - All

We caught the cruise bug after a 32 year hiatus (it's called putting kids thru school!) and after 2 wonderful cruises on the Vista 2018 and Symphony 2019 we couldnt wait to get back. The AOS out of Nassau allowed us the first cruise back. We were the 6th time out, and the staff told us that several things that weren't allowed were starting to be added back, such as the dance party on pool deck in ...

Our First Cruise Ever, and Probably our Last

Review for MSC Splendida to Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Today we’re on a cruise for the first time, but this is been such a poor experience I wonder why people do it at all. We were excited and read everything from the cruise company, many reviews and watched videos from cruisenews, Emma, and Gary. Before this, I was thinking hey - we can cruise to the Arctic circle or go transatlantic instead of flying, but now I’d really have to think. What sort of ...

An empty ship all to yourself!

Review for Anthem of the Seas to Baltic Sea

We chose this cruise as all passengers needed to be from the UK, fully vaccinated and have passed a PCR test within 3 days of travel. This gave confidence that it would actually be safer to go cruising than stroll around the local shopping centre (where masks appear to have been abandoned). Another factor for this cruise was that it wouldn't be full. In fact, there were less than 1,000 ...

Cruising is Back!

Review for Celebrity Summit to Caribbean - All

Celebrity and especially the Summit were amazingly happy to see us come on board; members of the team were cheering, clapping and yelling "welcome back" as we stepped onboard. And, that level of enthusiasm and service continued throughout the cruise. From the cleaner to the captain, all expressed appreciation for setting sail again. There were only 410 guests aboard a ship that can handle ...

Bahamas Breeze

Review for Crystal Serenity to Bahamas

We thought a summer cruise in the Bahamas would be hot and stormy but we lucked out with unseasonably dry weather, and the trade winds kept the temperature pleasant at least in the mornings and evenings. This was our first cruise on a luxury line and on a ship of this size. We usually cruise on Celebrity or sometimes Holland-America on ships that are twice the size of this 1,000-passenger ...

fantastic, relaxing sailing with beautiful scenery and great food

We are a married couple of 63 and 66 years, and have long wanted this trip to see Norway from the coastal side. It was a wonderful experience. Norway showed its high mountains and deep fjords from its best side. On the ship which is not very big, we got beautiful food from Norwegian local ingredients and good service, and good information about the places we passed. No stressful ...

Return-to-service Bahamas cruise 03JUL2021…

Review for Crystal Serenity to Bahamas

The long-awaited return of Crystal to cruising was largely a welcome success. The Crystal Serenity and her crew sparkled. Perfect, no, but I take issue with a reviewer on the same cruise who deemed the return “an apology cruise.” Sad that that couple boarded “anxious” rather than ‘eager’ as I and another well-travelled companion did. This is conjecture, but perhaps those guests had initially ...

Boring

Review for Crystal Serenity to Bahamas

Ship very small by today’s standards and not kept up. Old and outdated in decor and maintenance. Upholstery outdated and in need of repairs. Ship looks 20 years older than 2003 when it was launched. Shows the wear and tear throughout the ship. They only had 18 months to get it ready. This was the first cruise post covid. ATM in casino broke the entire cruise. Only way to get cash on the ship is ...

First cruise post COVID

We chose this cruise because it was the first one able to sail. Getting on the ship took a while, but once we got on, it was wonderful! This was a fully vaccinated ship so nobody had to wear a mask on board except the employees. The only bar you could sit around was in Palm Court. The seats around the bars were open, however. To get on the ship we met at the Baja Mar convention center where we ...
