Don't Miss in Skiathos
Beaches. Skiathos has more than its fair share, with the favorites being Vromolimnos, Lalaria and Koukounaries. Cruise lines offer transfers to these beaches, where facilities are available for sunbathing and water sports, or you can take a water taxi or bus on your own.
Skiathos Town. The island's main city has houses with quaint Mediterranean-style roofs, bougainvillea-draped balconies and enough cute alleyways to get lost for an hour or two. Walk up to the Clock Tower for a sweeping view of the island.
Skopelos. Neighboring island Skopelos is where Meryl Streep frolicked in the movie version of "Mamma Mia." Boats in Skiathos run tours to the island, although your tolerance for this daytrip will depend on how much you like Abba, as the Swedish band's songs are played on an endless loop. Make sure, too, that your boat gets back in time, so you don't miss your ship.
