The Flood of 1927 Museum: This small building isn't much bigger than a shotgun cottage. Opened, of course, by Ben Nelken, it draws in visitors with a map, sandbags and shovels used in the flood; a rowboat with life-size models of three people being rescued; and the compelling "Fatal Flood," a film about the devastating Great Mississippi Flood of 1927, originally broadcast on PBS as part of the American Experience series.
