Phuket Shore Excursion Reviews

Popular Things to Do in Phuket

Phuket is the largest, most populated island in Thailand, and it's home to many incredible, pristine beaches and lagoons that snorkelers and divers will absolutely love. Unique shore excursions to elephant or gibbon ape sanctuaries are tour options for cruisers who love animals and need a break from the sea and sun. Excursions that include traditional Thai experiences, like bargain shopping and visiting the 147-foot-tall Big Buddha, make for a great day ashore.

Phuket's dry season is during the winter months when temperatures are just a bit cooler, though still comfortably warm. Spring months can be oppressively hot and summer is monsoon season, so many travelers choose to avoid these times of year. Thai is the official language in Phuket, though some locals working in the tourism industry might know some English. The official currency is the Thai baht and cruisers should be sure to exchange if they're not planning to use a credit card.

Phuket Cruise Tips, Activities, and Overview

Don't Miss in Phuket

James Bond Island: The location of an iconic scene from "The Man with the Golden Gun" was filmed here and it's just a speedboat ride from Phuket. Getting there is half the fun; cruise past dramatic limestone cliffs rising out of the emerald water as white-sand sea caves beckon from shore. Take the obligatory picture by the James Bond Island sign and shop for surprisingly fine souvenirs like coconut shell bowls lined with mother-of-pearl. Yes, it's touristy, but for 007 fans (isn't that everyone?), it's a must.
