We did the Climb the Coba Pyramid and Cenote Swim excursion and it was great! Our tour guide, Carlos, was knowledgeable and entertaining and the bus ride to/from the different locations afforded wonderful views of mainland Mexico.

The ruins were incredible, a must see. The only down side is there's just not enough time because of the distance from port. The ferry ride could be a challenge for anyone prone to motion sickness, I recommend you do not watch the video as it could make it worse (videos of extreme sports from helmet cams, almost as bad as watching rollercoaster videos). The bus ride is long & a bit cramped, but worth it. Lunch was provided (sub sandwich, juice, and snacks) and dietary restrictions can be accommodated with 48 hour advance notice (salad instead of sandwich). Read Less

A short drive on an air conditioned bus, and we were at the Mayan ruins! Our tour guide, David, was very informative. He told us not only about the island of Cozumel, but the ruins as well. We then spent about 90 minutes at a beach a short distance away. There were red flags flying that day ( too windy to safely go in the water) but we played on the beach, relaxed and ate/drank. Overall a good excursion! Read Less

We really enjoyed this tour, but our guide was a bit long winded and we ended up standing for long periods of time before moving on. I'd live nearby if possible, this location is so beautiful. The tour has grown since my first trip and I'd suggest the tour agent meet ship guests right off the ship as it would save time to spend at Tulum.

Great day. Tour guide was Jorge. We started off snorkeling for an hour and seeing the corals reefs. I wish I had taken my water shoes as it is quite rocky in the sand. Amazing under water. We were offered a free alcohol / non alcohol drink of our choice. They took some pics of you under water. They charge $55.00 for a disk with all your pics on it. I refused to pay that price and offered them $20. and they took it. You can really barter in Mexico. Next, we went to the Mayan Ruins for a tour. That was interesting to see. Next up was lunch at a Mexican restaurant. Wow, Hot and spicy. Dont be fooled, taste test first. Then you taste test about 6 different tequila shots, and hes not stingy on the tequila. I think this was a 5 hour tour. Not sure with all those tequila shots, LOL. Then you head back, about an hours ride. Plenty of shopping and good prices when you get back ( about an hour or so as well as your only opportunity to buy from duty free before heading to the ship. This was a great day. Jorge was very knowledgeable about Mexico and a fun guy all day long. We made sure he had a couple of shots of the good stuff before returning. Recommended Read Less

This was our most disappointing excursion and I believe our most expensive. Our tour guide JJ was wonderful. It wasn't his fault at all but this tour is just too far away. We road a fary for 40 min ( many people threw up) then we walked through a beautiful area for about 7 min. and then a very scary area for about 5 min. until they loaded us onto a bus. We drove for 2 hours. I thought we would be driving through beautiful areas. No you drive on a high way and go through guard stations where Mexican police are holding machine guns. As you get further and further from your ship..... Finally we got out and we were almost running (if we hadn't had many older people we would have been) to the ruins. They were so beautiful but it was so rushed that you couldn't even enjoy them. We stayed there about 45 min We took some pictures and jumped back on the bus for our awful trip back to the ship. It was very unpleasant. I will say that the bus was nicely airconditioned but I would never recommend this excurstion to anyone. Read Less

This is a hard one. We really wanted to see Chichen Itzá because its the biggest in the area but boy is it far! You really have to think if you want to do it, we really did and glad we did. Up and at the meeting point on the ship at 6:30am. Loaded onto a private ferry boat to the mainland by 8:30am. 45min boat ride which was rough, RC kindly gave out seasickness pills which my husband took and I'm glad he did. Next walk to a big bus and a 2hr bus ride to the ruins. 1hr 30mins to see the ruins then do it all again going back. Its run very well. tour guide gives you an iPad going there on the bus and tells you all about the ruins and shows pics, that way when your there he can move pretty quick from one building to another. coming back a bag lunch of sand which banana and coke. I'm so glad we went but its one heck of a trip. Expect not to be back until 5:30pm despite what the ticket says, ours said 3:30pm return but that wasnt right. Read Less

Went to Chichen Itza - cruise ship didn't say when booking that it was 1 hour at Chichen Itza, we woudl have chosen something else. We got to spend 2 hour and saw the major sites. Dissappointing on the tour that everything was about upselling this trinket or that trinket, buy this from this person or that person, got old. Provided a 4oz water bottle, but then "alllowed" you to purchase 16oz water bottles with strong recommendation as to the heat at the site. Read Less
