We have cruised many times and have cruised with Thompson/Tui/ Marella many time and most of their ships since the Dream. We have always enjoyed them - until now. This was a 17 night transatlantic crossing from Jamaica, Turks and caicos, Bermuda, Azure, Cadiz etc. the weather wasn’t good, we had to divert, 5 metre high waves in the Atlantic for over 2 days and very little sun - it no fault is ...

Lovely, but not as special as I expected

Perhaps it is me, but as a seasoned cruiser who has been with many cruise lines, including the Carnival group, I had never been with Cunard. I just expected more than average, but I have had better service and better food on some other ships. We did a transatlantic 7 day crossing from NYC to Southampton with a sheltered balcony cabin on Deck 5. The bed was fabulous, the best I have had on a ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Costa Pacifica

A Transatlantic cruise is a great way to escape the European winter and be away for Christmas. The seas are nearly always calm and after several crossings we have always enjoyed smaller passenger numbers. That means better service and less hustle and bustle. Embarking and disembarking was never an issue and the staff are amazing Dining was excellent and MDR Dinner was well presented with a ...

Regent has been on our list for a while so this itinerary seemed perfect for us. The first clue it might not be great was the check-in at Barcelona, the guests seemed very old. I'm guessing the average age was in the 80s, or at least that's how it felt. People just weren't that friendly (unlike the staff) and it seemed to be a who has been on the most Regent cruises competition. The ship was ...

Beautiful ship with a few flaws

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Silver Dawn

We sailed transatlantic from lisbon to fort Lauderdale. The ship itself is wonderful being relatively new and impeccably maintained. The suites, common areas restaurants and butler service were excellent overall. Their touted new dining area called SALT was underwhelming. We asked for 2 but got one cooking class which was quite good. Problem areas were as follows: Intermittent very slow ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Enchanted Princess

Having crossed the Atlantic last year from Southampton on the disappointed Sky Princess, our travel companions persuaded us to try again this year on the Enchanted Princess. This year was far better than last. We were disappointed to skip Funchal on the island of Madeira due to a strike by the Portugese harbor pilots and the substituted stop of Gran Canary was not nearly as good. Overall the ...

Still love the NCL way BUT NOT THIS SHIP

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Prima

Overall an enjoyable cruise with one of our favourite cruise lines. The food was very good and on a few occasions much better than expected. However the Prima not our favourite ship, by a long way. The layout is poor with small venues and tight walkways, they really have crammed everything into this ship. THE SHIP As stated we were not fans of the ship overall, the decor is stunning in most ...

Did not meet expectation

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Prima

For comparison, we were on the NCL Escape last year. Newer doesn’t mean better. This is the case of the NCL Prima. It feels like being on a moving upscale hotel on water. It’s not like being on a typical cruise ship that we used to. The general areas where the shops, the customer services are located are just “blah”, nothing fancy. There is no sparkling twirling staircase or fancy ceiling. ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seven Seas Grandeur

We sailed on the Grandeur's maiden voyage from Trieste to Barcelona, then continued on from Barcelona to Miami. The ship largely met the many glowing reviews, with the Compass Rose main dining room the most stunning MDR we have experienced. Service was flawless and, contrary to early reviews, we found the production shows excellent with the talent of the performers, costumes, and staging all a ...
