This was our 4th Princess cruise and we really wanted to see the Panama Canal. The Ruby was a good choice, not too big. We know that it will always be a struggle to get a pool deck lounge chair or a table on the pool deck. The deck above the pool usually had lounge chairs available. The Panama Canal passengers were mostly over 50, many with walkers or scooters.
This time we chose a mini-suite ...
We are frequent cruisers, averaging about 1.5 cruises per year. We have come to the conclusion that every Viking Ocean Cruise will be wonderful and so easy for the passengers.
We chose this cruise as we would get the full Viking experience without having to take long flights. 5 hour flights, LAX to Miami and back.
Every aspect of this cruise was first class and amazing. We can’t wait till ...
I did two connected cruises, first a Panama Canal Transit and second a full ship charter with Bare Necessities Tour and Travel to the Western Caribbean. The Pride has been refurbished, mainly public area's. Fitness centre is very good, light and modern now. I love the size of the ship. It can hold approx 2000 guests and that is just OK for me. Big enough for the entertainment and small enough for ...
I can't imagine any more luxury AND any better price/value than Explora for best in class cruising. We've booked 2 more cruises with them because we're afraid once this gem is discovered, pricing will go up. From the luxurious accommodations on Explora I to the staff to the cuisine to the entertainment, the specialty coffees, I honestly can't suggest any improvements. We were giddy everyday; ...
I have been on a few cruises in my life, from budget to Luxury cruises. Let me tell you, when it comes to luxury, comfort, attention to detail, Explora Journeys figured out the perfect balance, between high end luxury and comfort. From the day you set foot onboard till the day you get off, the friendliness of all the hosts the luxury, the laidback lifestyle you will adopt while on board to the ...
Our cruise selection was governed by the itinerary and size of ship.
Pros:
We loved the size of the ship, there is a great deal of public space and we never felt crowded. Embarkation and disembarkation at ports is very simple.
Staff were all amazing and made our trip, especially Gibril, Joel, Guen and Casalyn.
Great to be able to visit engine room, kitchen and bridge
Washers and ...
The ship may be beautiful, but the organization is terrible. Not enough tables in the main restaurant, not enough sunbeds by the pool. Daily lack of Jameson Whiskey, Jack Daniels, Brandy etc and carbonated water!!!! at the bar of the Black Crab Restaurant and other restaurants that were included in the drink package I purchased. The evening dancing in the black crab restaurant full of alcohol ...
We chose this cruise mainly because it was going through the Panama Canal which was fantastic, but unfortunately two of the original stops got cancelled, the stop in San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua got cancelled just a short time after booking and Grand Cayman got cancelled as the swell was to bad for the tenders.
Pros:
All the staff were excellent
The Medallion App seemed to work well
The ...
The staff were friendly and helpful. For the most part, waiters were attentive, but the food left a lot to be desired. I’m not a picky eater, but I had trouble finding one entree that appealed to me each evening in the main dining room. The best dessert was usually the sherbet or ice cream choice. I got food poisoning the third day of the cruise as did another guest I talked to. Since the food is ...
