I guess the size of your dividend matters if you hold Princess Cruises shares but the size of the queues matters if you are a passenger on their new giant ships. And I really wonder how much longer the wonderful crews they employ can keep carrying their reputation and where the cruise industry is heading with the number of passengers they are cramming onto their ships.
OK this was our 8th ...
FOOD
Worst Bacon and Coffee of any cruise ship. Poached eggs came out without and white - just a yolk.
Worst breakfast Service ever - 45 minutes for eggs to arrive. Cold toast turned up 5 minutes later.
It was only an 8 day cruise but repetion of menu wasn't great.
None of these had a huge impact on overall experience. We didn't starve :)
SHIP
Worst designed Ship we've sailed on. ...
My husband and I sailed on what we call "the cruise to nowhere", being the 19 March 2024 Brilliance of the Seas "11 day "cruise to the South Pacific from Sydney, Australia
The cruise was meant to head to Lifou, Noumea, Mystery Island, Port Vila and Luganville for 11 days. In the end we only (just) got to Lifou - the other ports were cancelled and the cruise was cut short from 11 days to 8 days ...
I was very excited to cruise on the Edge, I had read all the celebrity promo and it looked fabulous. We had an internal room deck 11, this was very nice nothing to complain about. The drinks packages and Wi- fi packages are extortionate. I did feel that Celebrity are trying to extract every extra dollar that can from you. The excursion's are something you do not want to go near as they are ...
We've taken 4 Celebrity cruises, 2 in the last 6 months, but probably won't take anymore. Beautiful ships, good food and great service but BORING.
I'm not sure they have the right target audience (we're in our late 60's). For example, very talented musicians play easy-listening playlists. Look at the audience; they are playing cards! Another example: they have crafts during the day but ...
The ship is lovely and the food is excellent . The entertainment was good and the staff are good.
BUT, our day in Bay of Islands was ruined by poor tender arrangements waiting 4 hours to get off the ship, 1 hour to get back on and we missed our shore excursion. Also some ports the time was too short.
Also NO drinking water in the cabins.
These 3 points did spoil our opinion of Celebrity. ...
We were a group of 17, part of a larger group who had been traveling in Australia and New Zealand. Several wanted to visit the Great Barrier Reef, and this cruise seemed to be an easy and fun way to do it. While we are not exactly "quiet and shy" people by any means, everyone in our group was annoyed by how loud everything on this ship was. The decor was loud, the other passengers were loud, the ...
Overall: This was somewhat disappointing cruise that did not live up to the hype.
Embarkation: A breeze. Easiest boarding ever. No lines, knowledgeable people.
Cabin: We had a B-1 veranda stateroom. The room itself was fine. Flat screen TV, although not much to watch. (You could watch “Titanic” if ship disaster movies are your thing.) Adequate underbed storage for our soft-sided ...
The ship is magnificent, although the recent refurbishment in 2023 didn't reach all the staterooms( not allowed to call them cabins), the carpet in our room was badly stained. When contemplating a cruise with Cunard get everything in writing, we spent 3 hours on the phone between NZ and Australia with the Cunard agent and decided to upgrade our stateroom to a room with an un-interrupted view, on ...
Cruise was 10 nights NZ : Picton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin as well as Dusky, Doubtful and Milford Sounds.
Our cruise 21-Feb to 2-Mar 2024. We were lucky to have Good weather... so could sail through Milford Sounds – amazing.
Power points – US Type A and B, and one European Type F (Round pin) .. no AU power points. So bring your own, or ask Stateroom attendant…if they have any ...
