Warning- don’t accept the staterooms near the main Atrium

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

The cruise was ruined for us by the extraordinary noise we have been subjected to every evening in our staterooms from 6pm to 10.30 pm by bands playing in the nearby Atrium. I complained 3 different times that the noise levels are above safety standards (capable of having an ordinary conversation an arm’s length apart). Their reception staff have to work in the same noise levels so the cruise line ...

Wonderful ports of call

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

We choose this cruise based on the destinations and the price. We enjoyed the cruise but found the ship confusing to navigate. Renovations have left this ship a bit chopped up as far as deck layout goes. There were no distinct problems but she is starting to show her age. Food while plentiful, was a little unimaginative, and repetitive. The noise levels on the ship could be quite high at times in ...

NCL cut cabin staff and service

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

We are platinum with NCL and have taken 4 cruises since the pandemic. At first I excused the reduced staff due to Covid. Now I understand they are just cutting costs at the expense of service to the passengers. The cabin stewards have twice as many cabins so no turn down service. They are overworked and in bad mood. They cannot provide personal service and you cannot count on what time your cabin ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

We wanted to explore a little outside our usual territory, and the Baltic Sea was an area we hadn't really visited in depth. We also hadn't cruised much with Norwegian, but they had the itinerary and we thought the price was fair... so off to Sweden we flew. We spent a couple days in Stockholm before departure, and enjoyed trips to the Vasa Museum, a tour of the archipelago that lies between ...

A sterile experience devoid of any fun, that has put us off cruising for good

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Seven Seas Splendor

We chose this cruise line and ship as we had done two other regent cruises before and liked them very much. We want to be loyal and also know what we are getting for our money. Unfortunately we got surprises that underwhelmed us rather than brought us joy and delight. we were in a very expensive suite a Splendour Suite, the bed was fabulous, great bathroom and lounge room with desk table and ...

Sometimes great, sometimes not

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Mars

We chose this cruise after having to cancel a special Norway trip in 2020. We have been on several Viking River Cruises that we enjoyed and looked forward to trying the smaller ocean cruise ships. The ship was beautiful and everything we expected after the river cruises. Clean, elegant and yet not overwhelming. The cabin and balcony were good while a little small (only one person can walk ...

But for the food...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Neptune

Ship=excellent. Very nice public areas. Cabin=excellent. Based on videos, the standard balcony cabins had grossly insufficient storage space for us, and we travel light. So we upgraded to a penthouse veranda. Spacious, and more storage space than we could use. Entertainment=excellent. Initially, I thought it a bit cheesy, but by the end of the cruise, my opinion changed. The shipboard ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Voyager of the Seas

This summer we decided not to go very far from home, so choosing a cruise departing from Stockholm did sound like a great idea since we live only a short subway ride away from the port. Royal Caribbean and Voyager of the Seas was acutually my very first cruise line and ship almost 15 years ago and I remember it as a mixed experience. Now with almost 20 cruises done since then and arround 8 of ...

RCCL on steroids

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Silver Moon

We choose this cruise as the ship was new and itinerary interesting as we had not seen several of the ports. The positive 1. New ship with good (not great) suites. Ship handles the seas well and is smooth 2. Lots of staff who are very polite 3. Multitude of dining options 4. Shuttle service in many cities 5. Good coffee, and cocktails. Typical low quality wines ...

Introduction: We are a married couple of retirement age, still working, who have previously cruised with Oceania, Holland America, Royal Caribbean and NCL. We are Gold Latitude on NCL. We generally prefer to eat at the specialty restaurants. With the exceptions of Arctica and Antarctica, we have traveled on all continents. Staff: The staff in all capacities were friendly and ...
