When it came time to book our very first cruise, we researched everything we could...dining options, entertainment, onboard amenities, itineraries...and we decided that NCL offered what we wanted.
Freestyle dining? Yes please! Wide range of entertainment including Broadway shows? Heck yeah! Interesting itineraries? Yep, lots to choose from.
Sadly, much of what led us to NCL is no longer ...
We chose this cruise because our travel agent talked up the service. What a disappointment! First our return business class air is a disaster. We will have over 12 hours in Vancouver with a red eye to Newark then a five hour layover to get to Philadelphia. We could drive to Philly from Newark faster. For the price of the cruise we shouldn’t have to pay an up charge to get these crappy flights ...
Same food served every night except for the 2nd of last night , when lobster tails and baked Alaska was added. Celebrity menus used to have 2 sides. Classic menu served every night, consisting of baked chicken, salmon, pasta and beef. Plus there was another menu which changed every night. Now only classic menu served. It seems they want us to eat at the specialty restaurants which cost a lot. ...
I have cruised Regent almost exclusively for several years. Their level of service, their food quality, and excursions have all declined in quality. I am not sure if this is due to the economy, the fact that Norwegian Cruise Lines is losing money, shortages of staff, or cost-cutting measures.
We sailed the subject itinerary. At first, we were given economy air that arrived in Anchorage at ...

First of all, their website is NOT very user friendly. The customer service is actually pretty bad with helping or answering questions. Our restroom smelled like sewer The entire week. One time our toilet wouldn’t flush for over a half hour. Common toilets smelled like sewer back up also. The shore excursions are way overpriced so we arranged our own. Help desks were not staffed for most of the ...
The ship was nice and our steward was great. The bed was great for sleeping. Excursions were fairly good, but some were very poor. The food was average for cafeterias and restaurants. Manfredi's was a big disappointment. The Restaurant was the best experience overall for meals. There were a number of minor problems with coordination by Viking staff. But there was a big snafu during ...
A-lot of money for a average cruise, service was mediocre room's we're small for the premium price we paid. The butler was scarce had to track him down pretty much everyday. Food was excellent with plenty of choices but make reservations early, the restaurants are small. Big down side had to be back on boat before 3:30 every day so limited time for excursions. Do your do diligence, this was sold ...
The food is what we previously enjoyed the most, this time it was what we enjoyed the least. The specialty restaurants Cagney’s and Le Bistro had only a few tasty dishes but overall they weren’t anything to write home about either. The coffee everywhere on the ship was like twice recycled dish water. Guessing this is a push to buy the premium drink package. Most of the staff on the ship were ...
We are regular cruisers and for our cruise to Alaska we felt we would benefit more from the small ship experience. Our travel agent recommended Regent as the most luxurious cruise line. Maybe we just expected to much. The ship itself was immaculate and all the staff were very courteous.
However, we found the standard of the food to be dissapointing, the main difference in mainline cruises and ...
