Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Viva

User Avatar

The overall experience is ehhh. Carnival is better, Holland is better, genuinely any other cruise line besides Margaritaville is better. The food on Norwegian is pretty bad unless you go to a restaurant (that you pay extra at), the boat is insanely crowded, the excursions always leave late because the masses don’t show up on time, and the customer service is subpar. If you want to do anything ...

Priority Access is a scam

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Norwegian Viva

WARNING on priority access. Do not waste the money. No one at the port or on the ship knows where to direct you so you end up in the main boarding line anyway, your “early” time slot is the same as all the other passengers, the onboard spa credit is a scam as you have to spend $500 just to get the $100 and it’s only for certain services, many trips don’t have tendering heavy stops and the ...

NCL Decline

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Viva

Pros: -aesthetically beautiful - Staterooms are spacious Cons: You can really see cost cutting measures in comparison to pre-covid cruising - food quality poor and limited selection in every venue - drinks being substituted for cheap puree. E.g margarita made with an orange puree rather than triple sec or controiu - buffet breakfast closes at 9:30 - buffet breakfast has ...

For background, I am a 29 year old male, ICU nurse from New York. Been on 5 previous cruises with Carnival, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Royal Caribbean. Was accompanied by 3rd grade teacher girlfriend who has cruise experience, and her two parents. It was a 7 day cruise on the Norwegian Viva out of Puerto Rico with six ports of call Positives: Quick and easy on-boarding Spacious ...

Worst cruise ever!

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Viva

There is nothing positive about the NCL Viva or the company. We've been on 15 previous cruises with Carnival, Holland America, Princess, Celebrity, and Royal Caribbean. The following are our opinions and experiences on the cruise that departed San Juan, PR on January 21st. This ship's public areas (dining venues, entertainment venues, etc.) are undersized based upon the number of guests it ...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Explora I

We chose Explora because of their aspiration to be a lifestyle brand and I read other reviews saying children were not a problem on Explora - YMMV but wanted to let you know they were a problem on this cruise, and there are no policies in place that allow the staff to curb this issue (they recognise it as a problem but feel powerless to intervene). Perhaps it is just our sailing (29 December from ...

I put this out there in hopes that others will read it and cancel before it is too late. This ship might not be for you. You pay a lot for a cruise and should have a good experience. I have only cruised Royal and Carnival and Viva was an awful experience. I asked for a Pina Colada on the rocks and bartenders looked at me like I was crazy. One gave me a premade canned pina colada and splashed a ...

DO NOT SAIL THE VIVA NCL

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Viva

I just returned from a 7 nite cruise on the Norwegian Viva. Our balcony room was located on the 9th floor, overlooking an area where other cruisers could use an infiniti pool, sunbathe, walk the ship. We had no privacy when out on the balcony , at all times as other guests were out there as early as 6 am, and until 2 in the am, everyone could see us as well and look into our room so the curtains ...

Awful cruise

Lots of issues on this cruise. Entertainment: 1. All entertainment was geared to one group of people. Everything was in Spanish. 2. Whether you were in Safari Club, Vortex or in center by Christmas/bar, all entertainment was in Spanish. Disabilities: 1. There was no assistance for people with disabilities upon leaving for excursions. You were expected to walk down three flights of ...

This was my 2nd cruise with NCL. My sister and I cruised on the NCL Encore last year and had an amazing experience. This ship, not so good. Pro's: Check in and disembarking went very smoothly. The staff that greeted us were very friendly and happy to see us. Our cabin was ready when we arrived around 2:30. Our balcony was very nice. It had one chair and one lounger with a small ...
