Great Cruise with mediocre entertainment

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Resilient Lady

We wanted to experience something different on a cruise and the price was great and with all the hype of Virgin Voyages on TV we decided to try this cruise. First impressions of the ship as we boarded was a fresh ship and happy staff. Arriving to our room we found a spacious XL Sea Terrace room like no other that we have experienced on any other cruise ship in a good way, with a separate ...

It was our 30th wedding anniversary so wanted to do something special. So decided on our first visit to Australia and New Zealand. The ship and cabins are beautiful splash out and go as a rock star if you can. The staff truly seem to be the happiest friendliest crew we have ever sailed with. I would have given 5 stars but personally feel the food lets the ship down. The wake is beautiful but ...

Nice ship, a bit dated

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Grand Princess

First Time Cruiser • Age 60s

This is our 4th time on Grand Princess, and it is still a very nice ship, in spite of being their oldest. The Princess food experience remains very good, but they slip up in a few areas that would not have happened 5 years ago. Having also cruised with P&O and Cunard in the last 2 years, Princess are way ahead. Our cabin has the usual issues of an older ship, very poor ergonomics, and very ...

Having being one of the few that was lucky enough to get the cruise on Velocity Points, we were looking forward to seeing what this Cruise Line offered compared to others. The ship itself is absolutely beautiful. The layout of the ship is completely different, I think due to the fact that there is no main dining room and there is also no central broadwalk. The entertainment areas are a lot ...

My review of our Resilient Lady sailing from Feb 22-27. We had an absolute blast on this ship! Almost everything was top-notch, from the ship itself to the food to the cabin to the staff. The staff (ranging from stewards to Happenings cast to servers in the restaurants and Galley) were all delightful, energetic, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. I loved all the cool design elements in the ...

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Silver Muse

Just off a 14 Day Silver Muse Cruise from Melbourne AU to Auckland, NZ. Weather was good (not great) and par for the course, the Tasman gave us a little bit of bad weather thus we missed Bluff NZ, our second port of call. No big deal, as we were being pampered aboard with staff that was so attentive. No ask was too big or too small. They and they alone are the outstanding element of the trip. ...

Love cruising so had to see what the hype was about with VV. * Food at the restaurant - went to 5; 3 were exceptional; 1 was good; 1 was very average. Favourite - Pink Agave - both food and service staff were fantastic. Special mention to Molla and restaurant manager Jenny. Very attentive and eager to make the experience top class. Least favourite - Gumbae - we were at large table; not ...

Perfectly Fine

I chose an interior cabin. There should have been two travelling but I ended up solo. That was not a problem at all. I have travelled extensively by myself and carry a book everywhere. If I wanted a conversation, I could always find someone to talk with. If not, I read my book. Yes, the ship could do with an upgrade but it was kept spotlessly clean by the amazingly busy cleaning crew. My ...

A refreshing change to cruising

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Resilient Lady

Once you get used to the layout, it is an easy ship to move around. Despite the ship being nearly full, there were no crowds gathered, except for scarlet night, etc. The food was overall very good, but restaurant bookings were difficult to get if you couldn’t get used to the app quickly. There is not enough seats for everyone to eat at each of the restaurants. Prices for drinks, entertainment ...

Real need for a dining room

We booked the cruise at the last minute and were so excited about going on a Virgin Voyages cruise after all we had seen in the media. Boarding was very long-winded, and thank goodness it didn't rain as we were on the pier over an hour waiting to board, and there was no shelter. This is a Port of Melbourne problem, not Virgin. Because we booked only a week out from departure we found that ...
