This was a once in a lifetime cruise starting in Santiago, Chile….glacial cruising around Cape Horn, Antarctica landings, up the east coast of South America, ending deep in the Amazon in Manaus, Brazil. For booking, this cruise was forty-two days and technically two back to back cruises on Seabourn Quest, which is reinforced for Antarctica. This was the last summer trip to Antarctica for the ...

This was our third Seabourn cruise but the first in which we upgraded to a penthouse spa suite (because of a good deal) and the first where we crossed the Atlantic. Both were great experiences and are the focus of this review. The suite first. There are four of these above the spa area, reached only by a flight of curving stairs and so not practical for passengers with mobility issues. The deck ...

I picked this cruise because of the unusual and very interesting itinerary. I do not regret selecting this cruise. The crew was very interactive with the guests and catered to our desires. The size of the ship and the quality of the guests lead to a community atmosphere. I think by the end of the cruise there were more than 100 guests and almost the entire crew that greeted me by name. The ...

We decided on this itinerary since no other cruise line seems to be doing it. Flew into Manaus Brazil on AA #1265 non stop from Miami. Leaving the airport our cab was stopped at a military checkpoint, papers please. We stayed at the Wyndham Garden Hotel overlooking the Amazon. Beautiful location and hotel was OK for the one night. Took a cab to the port the next day and boarded the ship around ...

We sailed from Manaus down the Amazon for several days before stopping at several Brazilian coastal ports, then Montevideo and Buenos Aires. We happened to book the same hotel the ship used, Caesar Business, in Manaus, and it was a 3 star hotel with a nice breakfast. We took a taxi to the port, a few miles away. The ship was familiar to the others in the fleet. Very well decorated and ...

Although we have cruised many times this was only the second time we had been on Princess and it was chosen due to the itinary. It did not disappoint. We had six days on the river visiting four ports most big towns or cities but my personal favourite was Boca de Varleria - a small riverside village which as very welcoming. This and the other stops gave us quite an insight into Amazonian life. ...

The ship....Princess Pacific--was great. It is very small and full of character. There were only 608 passangers on board. I flew on an American carrier non stop from Miami to Manaus. Fellow passanger that used the one ATM at the airport (arrival around midnight) was rigged to clone pin and ATM and they arrived home to find their accounts empty....so they reported on cruise critic. ...

Just returned from 15 days on the Sojourn -- was delighted with the service and food. DH was nervous about being on a bigger ship but he was amazed to see the same level of service with almost twice as many guests. Suffice it to say we put a deposit on our next cruise before we left! Took notes on my iPhone and thought I'd share - Day 1 - Local tour company flubbed transfers. Seabourn needs to ...

First Time Cruiser

Firstly I would like to say, when reading reviews of Cruise Ships. If the writer of the review has had a awful time before even getting on board, it seems usual to assume the review of the cruise will reflect the writers disssatisfaction for the time on board. Our booking is made separately from Princess and our arrival to the port of embarkation is 1 or 2 days earlier. Therefore we don't ...

First Time Cruiser

This was our first Princess cruise chosen because of the itinerary - Manaus on the Amazon to Fort Lauderdale via Devil's Island off French Guiana. Flying to the USA on BA was fine but US Immigration lived up to its unwelcoming reputation.Getting to Manaus was always likely to be difficult and so it proved with a charter flight from Miami to Manaus. Tickets arrived for most UK passengers only four ...
