SeaDream II 2023 Fall Crossing
This is a review of the second Atlantic crossing that I've experienced on SeaDream II. The crossing began on November 26, 2023, in Lisbon Portugal, and ended on December 9, 2023 in St. Maarten. This crossing was about two weeks later than my previous fall crossing. 44 guests, and 93 crew on-board.
The Weather
Normally I wouldn't include weather conditions ...
Just got back from the transatlantic on board the brand new VIVA. The ship is beautiful.
Cabins: The rooms are much bigger than other ships. Plenty of outlets and a real modern feel. The bathrooms are large with great room in the shower.
Food: The food options are virtually unlimited. On an 11 day trip it was hard to eat at the same venue. We really enjoyed the Indulge food hall, ...
We have cruised with Azamara several times in the past , and have always had a great experience ! And this , was no different !
This was a 9 night crossing from Lisbon to Bridgetown, Barbados , one stop in Madeira .
From the outset , we received excellent service. We checked in leisurely at Lisbon, and boarded the ship in time for lunch.
Staterooms were ready from about 1.30pm and our ...
Booked this cruise with my wife who chickened out because she had come down with covid on our previous cruise (see Feb. 2023 Celebrity Edge review)-took our 17 year old brilliant grandson instead. I chose this particular cruise Lisbon-southern Spain, Morocco-because SilverSea Dawn excursions included Jewish historical and cultural sites as well as the more typical. Of course a brand new ship of ...
We traveled Lisbon to Lisbon for 21 days starting mid-October. We chose this cruise because it included many ports we had not visited previously. Unfortunately, they had to cancel two ports - Tangier and Casablanca - presumably due to the situation in the Mideast. But they substituted an extra night in Malaga and Lisbon, so that was fine. Since we have previously cruised with Seabourn, we were ...
We chose this cruise because of the dates/location required. Our inside cabin was just fine and saved a lot of money. One port was changed for another due to bad weather which was appreciated rather than another sea day. Lots of activities on the ship. We dont do the drinks or wifi package because of high price which I guess is normal on all cruises.
I was quite happy with the food but I always ...
First off, I can not understand the negative reviews about this ship, although one has to wonder about someone who complains about how to use a sink! The ship is great and exceeded our expectations. Butler service, bar service and restaurant service were all top notch. Staff were exceptionally friendly without exception. Tours were run well and left on time (a positive for me).
Beds and pillows ...
Over many years my wife and I have been able to river cruise several times on the rivers of Europe. This was our first experience cruising with Scenic. Ten days on Scenic's Azure cruising Portugals Douro was more than memorable. We found it difficult to fault any aspect of our trip....we simply could not. Everything & everyone....from the Captain, the restaurant staff, to "suite butlers" made our ...
I knew nothing of Portugal when I booked this trip other than hearing about a trip that a friend took. I can't believe that Portugal hadn't been on my list of places to see until now. What a wonderful country! The ship could not have been better! The crew was AWESOME. I know that's a word that is sometimes overused, but truly, that's the only way to describe them. EVERYONE was so welcoming ...
We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the Viking Hemming. The staff was wonderful - the food was great - and we met wonderful people along the way. We extended our time with the pre - trip to Madrid and the post-trip to Santiago. Both extensions were so enjoyable. We especially liked the Flamenco Dance evening in Madrid and the stop in Braga on our way to Santiago. I wished we had more time to spend ...
