Unless you book an excursion, you won't really see Freeport. Instead, you'll be treated to the local Senor Frogs, and a straw market. I suppose there are some good deals to be had, but we quickly re-boarded the ship. ...

We rented a Jeep from Island Jeep & Scooter rentals. We dealt with Stanley, who was also the guy we rented from the previous trip, and he is great. He has maps and personally gives you advise on what to visit and how to get there. Unfortunately, we were not able to find much to do for free. So we just hit Fortune Beach and the Lucayan Market. ...

Waste of time. Welcome to a Bahamian cement factory and oil storage area. Be prepared to be bombarded by locals trying to get you to spend money on bad tours and trinkets. Almost as bad as a Jamaican port of call. ...

Why bother. High priced, unfriendly vendors. Limited to immediate docking area unless you do an excursion. Industrial port otherwise. Vendor area seems clean and safe. Nice selection of food and drinks for a small port. ...
