Decent Cruise

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Crown Princess

I have just discovered cruising and this is my second. My first was on Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the seas. This cruise was noticeably lesser than the Royal Caribbean cruise in just about every area of comparison. From food, to amenities to entertainment to the general service to even the attitude of the crew members. The food: The food was not great. Not in the buffet or the main dining ...

Kept hearing Celebrity was a luxury cruise line?

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Celebrity Millennium

We are pretty new to cruising, our first and only other cruise was 2 years ago in the southern Caribbean with Carnival. Booked this trip to Hawaii with Celebrity for our 25th anniversary, along with friends. All we kept hearing from people was how upscale Celebrity was, and that it would be much more luxurious than Carnival. Really? We had a great trip to Hawaii and a lot of fun while there, but ...

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

This was my 11th cruise. In the past, we have chosen our ship and cruise line by destinations rather than loyalty to a particular cruise line and as a result we have been on ships from Holland America, Princess, Disney, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, and Celebrity. Usually we take a cruise because we want to get away from the Seattle rain, and also because we want to see someplace new and ...

This was our first cruise on Celebrity. I had heard that the food was way better than other lines we had been on and the ship was gorgeous. I have to say, I don't agree with either. We flew into San Diego and were greeted by celebrity staff. Celebrity provided transfers to Ensenada, where the ship was departing from. We arrived at the airport at about 11 and were taken by bus to the Sheraton ...

Really, really disappointed!

This was our 3rd experience with Celebrity. Our first 2 were excellent. Our connection from the San Diego airport to Celebrity's SD terminal was quick. It went downhill from there. The terminal was chaotic and dirty. We finally boarded a bus to Ensenada at around 4PM. The bus proceeded to the border, where we were delayed about 1 hour by Mexican border security (not too bad, others were ...

This was my eight cruise, my third visit to Hawaii and also my second with Celebrity. This was also Celebrity's second chance at getting my vacation right after the awful cruise I had with them in 2010. I'm sad to say that Celebrity screwed up their chances within hours of me setting foot on the ship in Ensenada. This review isn't going to be very complimentary as a lot of things went wrong ...

24 days onboard the Carnival Spirit to Hawaii

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Carnival Spirit

We decided to take two back to back cruises on Carnivals' Spirit due to its unique Hawaii itinerary which included many nights in Maui and Honolulu. Hence, living on the Pacific coast, boarding in San Diego would be great. Much to our dismay only check in was in San Diego while 2,300 guests were shipped by bus through the dreaded 2 1/2 hour drive to Ensenada to fulfill the obsolete Jones Act. ...

We received a flyer in the mail, advertising continuing education credits available on a 12-day cruise to Hawaii. Thinking this would be a good way for my husband and I to get a vacation in while renewing our clinical laboratory technologist license education requirements - we signed up. It was also an opportunity to have the entire family along so we included our 20 and 22 year old daughters. The ...

Carnival Spirit - Hawaii

This is my second time on the Spirit but my first time to Hawaii. I had read what others said about embarkation from Ensenada and after speaking to three different Carnival reps via phone (and getting 3 different pieces of information), I was sure my mother and I would have no problems with embarkation. WRONG!!!!! To begin with, Carnival sent out the tickets and then sent out a second set. I ...

Carnival Spirit - Hawaii

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Carnival Spirit

Overview -- Itinerary for this cruise includes considerable at-sea time along with a relatively large number of ports-of-call. The cruise is available at a relatively low price and is on a medium to large, modern cruise ship offering undistinguished service, meals, and entertainment. Background -- This was the fifth cruise for my wife and me; this time celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. ...
