If the ship is too long to dock and has to tender, as did the Majestic Princess, stay on board. Only one tender is allowed in at a time. Queued for an hour and forty minutes to board a tender back to the ship. Luckily it wasn’t sunny or raining.
Not a lot to do in Eden, but a nice little village. ...
A lot of people complain about Eden but we had a blast. Did Tea and Kangaroos tour where we drove golf carts around a course full of Kangaroos. Absolute blast. In the afternoon we did the Southern Trike Tour outside of the cruise line. The picked us up near the port and drove us through the scenic countryside to Broadwater Oysters where we had some amazing local oysters. It’s all what you make of ...
Although the port is pretty, Eden just doesn’t offer the same kind of touring options as many of the other ports we visited. It’s an ex-whaling port. The town is uphill so you really need to take the bus. For some reason, they charged $20 for the bus ride here, where other ports offered free shuttle buses. Really just not worth it, take an excursion or stay on the ship. ...
Tiny New South Wales town in a picturesque setting . Docked close to town centre. Coaches supplied, but only an 8-10 minute walk from ship to the Whaling museum. It is a hilly town though. We walked through town and then went for a long walk along the beach coastal path. The local folk came out to greet us, with volunteers wearing red shirts. There was a festive, welcoming atmosphere. The ...
My first choice of an excursion was cancelled by the vendor but I did enjoy the "Bushwalk & Culture Experience" for both the cultural and nature experience. I enjoyed the walk in the bush and the walk to the beach as well as the information and experience from the aboriginal guide. ...
On board Coral Princess. Destination staff member gave an informative talk night before of things to do for free in Eden. Ship docks right next to Eden Welcome Centre (tourist info). Markets outside on port day. Free shuttles from WC to town centre. Town centre has plenty of small shops, cafes and iga supermarket in its Main Street. Most were open early for cruisers despite being a Sunday. ...
Eden is a beautiful little town on the coast which can be walked in an hour or so, depending how long you linger in shops and such. There is a whaling museum and a few coffee shops and we had a beer or so in the pub on their sun drenched deck. Very nice indeed. They had fresh oysters and mussels which are some of the best. The town really made us welcome providing a shuttle bus and many volunteers ...
I hadn't been to Eden since I was a teenager on family holidays. Its a scenic part of the coast. I took the ship excursion "Easy Eden" where we were taken to the lookout, driven around town and given the history. We stopped to feed the pelicans on the way to Boydtown and the historic Seahorse Inn. Here you could look around or get a coffee. A stop was made in town for those who wanted to look ...
