Stayed local in Warnemunde and enjoyed the nice small local seaside town, rather than do the very long commute to Berlin. I can understand if your from the US or further afield but for a European could be done easily and probably cheaper on a weekend break. ...

Berlin is a vibrant city with a fascinating past. We dined at the rooftop restaurant at the Reichstag (this was booked on our own and advance reservations are absolutely essential) where the views were wonderful. We also got great views from the top of the TV tower on an optional excursion "Berlin by Night;" our only caveat being that the tower is not air conditioned and it was hot. ...

Took a full day tour to Berlin, went through a 3rd party company as it was much cheaper than RCCL. While it was a long drive it was a wonderful tour and had an amazing guide who was knowledgeable and entertaining.
