Standards dropping

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Arvia

Having had a wonderful experience on Iona 18 months ago we wanted to check out Arvia going to the Caribbean. The experience started badly when we found out we were flying with Maleth Aero - an airline I have never heard of and if I had known this was the airline, it would have certainly put me off booking. The eight hour flight had no in flight entertainment or any duty free service. The ...

Worst Ever Cruise Experience

We choose this cruise for the destinations, we did two weeks back to back Tropical Shores & Cocktail & Coconuts. The destinations didn’t disappoint and Dominica was the highlight. However the onboard experience was the worst we have ever had. If you don’t mind bad food and like to drink a lot you will probably love it. It felt like Wetherspoons at Sea but that would be doing Wetherspoons ...

Will never cruise with P&O again!

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Arvia

Really shocked at how standards have fallen! This was a third rate cruise, dirty cutlery, grubby carpets in the Horizon Court, disgusting tables with grime all around the silicon where they were not cleaned adequately. There was an outbreak of D&V on board during the first part of our cruise, we actually boarded on the 1st of March. We complained about the lack of cleanliness many times, our ...

The good stuff 1) Service staff were all fantastic, enthusiastic and willing to help ( with exception of 1, the read head in destination services) 2) Cabin was spacious and clean. The not so good stuff 1) The quality of the food. As a vegitarian I found the choice limited and the quality of what was offered was not very good. 2) The smoking area on deck 12 right next to the jogging ...

Huge Disappointment

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Explora I

Where do I start, from the minute I booked my cruise everything was a shambles. Having spoken to a number of shoreside staff prior to departure, they were either extremely rude or completely incompetent. Once onboard the ship, things didn't really improve. The food was excellent however they are already starting to make cutbacks in the quality compared to previous sailings. Some of the menu items ...

Booked a smaller ship thinking that overcrowding wouldn’t be as big of a problem as in past cruises. Boy, was I wrong, and add to that a dated jalopy of a ship to spend a week on. Don’t waste your money on this pile of garbage unless you like the hum and flicker of CFL light bulbs that *might* work if you’re lucky. One of them in our stateroom was like a strobe light and two other lights just ...

Memorable cruise but unfortunately memorable for all the wrong reasons, if you’re looking for a cruise with good food, luxury accommodation, excellent service, then do not book this. Butlins has more quality than this cruise. Food was typical British like Bacon, eggs and baked beans for breakfast. Buffet at dinner had a lot of choice but wasn’t the best quality, cold food and over cooked. If ...

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on MSC Seaside

We chose this cruise line as we had previously been on a few P & O cruises and felt that they had become more about quantity than quality. Our local travel agent recommended MSC and whilst P & O were offering a similar cruise at 3 times less than the price we paid, we booked a Christmas experience. Well, it certainly was an experience unfortunately, not of the great type. We embarked with ...

Cruised Caribbean, December 2023. Multigenerational family visit with five cabins booked. Boat is very dirty and not well maintained. Food is very poor quality and hit or miss. Very poor vegetarian options with dried up salads or vegetables that have been overcooked and left out on the side for hours and then thrown on the plate. New Year’s Eve, for a vegetarian Daughter was a plate of salad or a ...

How does a company with this much experience get it so wrong unless they just couldn’t care less! 1 Case robbed in transit, sun cream and toiletries stolen. Other case was broken. 2 Flight chaos, aircraft wrongly configured 3 3 different seat allocations 4 Didn’t correctly honour extra leg room 5 No refund for allocated (paid for) seats not being available 6 Excursion in DR ...
