The best thing about the Thomson Celebration is the staff. They are a great bunch always smiling and happy - nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. Only the reception staff were a little less happy than the others. We enjoyed the food which is plentiful with lots of variety. We used both the Lido (self service)for breakfast and lunch and the Meridian restaurant for dinner- both really good.
The entertainments was OK - they were on the first week of a new team so some of it was not quite ready. The Elton John Tribute and the Tribute to the Musicals certainly need more work but the other shows were very enjoyable.
The only problem I really have is with the ship itself. We had booked a suite which was lovely very comfortable bed and well appointed. However, since we last travelled on the Celebration she has developed a terrible vibration and shudder. this can be felt all over the ship but especially when we were in bed the vibration/shudder was very strong and we could not sleep. This is very disappointing especially after the long flight and the coach journey to the ship. We had sailed on her before 5 years ago and had not noticed it then. We spoke to a very Senior office about it who said it was a design fault and nothing can be done about it - If you like your sleep don't choose the celebration. My advice to Thomson - move the staff lock stock and barrel to a new ship- we will be the first to book.
