Let's start out by saying how nice it was to drive to the port rather than dealing with flight plans. We arrived at Cape Liberty at 4:30pm and we went right through the arrival lines. We were in our cabin on deck 8 in record time. We joked that we were probably in our cabin before our "ride to the port" was back on the Turnpike. They have the system down and move you right through. A great way to start a vacation! Though they said we couldn't board until 6pm, we were not the first on board at 4:45!

With this being only our second cruise, both on RCI, I won't go into too much detail. Our last cruise in Nov. on Navigator was a completely different cruise. Then we had 3 kids with us, this time it was just the two of us. Plus, the Caribbean is way different than Canada in the fall! We had quite a few people complaining on the ship that it was "boring". We really didn't see it that way. It was much more relaxing than we expected since there really wasn't much to do on "sea days" (other than eating of course!). Because it was really chilly (46 degrees) outside, not many people were out doing things. The cool days didn't stop us from climbing the rock wall several times and just sitting in the sun with jackets on. With everything, it's what you make of it...

We do think the food wasn't as good as on the Navigator cruise. The food in the Windjammer was usually just lukewarm. There really wasn't much of a selection there for breakfast and lunch. We always ate dinner in the dining room. The food was very good there.
