We did the lower Mississippi cruise in 2019, and loved it. We departed St Paul MN, bound for St Louis. The scenery was beautiful. The river towns were lovely, and most shore excursions were good also. However, from day one, housekeeping was poor. Towels were not replaced, housekeeping never answered their phone, and we were unable to leave a message. The room was clean, and we had all the amenities, but our neighbor had to search for a cart to get a roll of tp. The balcony was so dirty with bugs and dirt that we hesitated to use our balcony. There we no privacy panels between our room and the 2 staterooms forward from us. IT seemed problems were confined to our aft rooms on deck 4.

Maintenance issues varied from loose fixtures, burnt out lights, and sliding glass doors that wouldn’t lock.

There were not enough staff to service the staterooms. What staff there was were untrained. The question is should ACL reimburse a portion of the $750/day fare? We have written by both snail mail and email, to the corporate office, but have yet to get a reply. Overall, we love the ACL concept. The young folks who we encountered were generally very competent, and very friendly, and fun! Yes America is a bit dated, but their itineraries are great for those of us who wish to remain in the US.
