Our experience with the MSC Seashore with Aurea experience and additional Premium drink package. Cabin number 15257. Departure Oct. 3rd 2021 from Genova, Italy. We are a couple aged 55-60 years.

We had organised a day in Genova before boarding to avoid possible mistakes or delays what might jeopardize our start of the Cruise. We were lucky. We had nice weather and no issues with our flight and getting to the vessel the next day. Other guests who fly in on the day of the departure had some issues with the flights due to really bad weather and needed to divert to Turin. The pilot tried to land 2 times but needed to overshoot the runway. It was not possible to land. So, in Turin they stopping for fuel and back to Genova for new attempts to land. And some point they succeeded and made to the vessel just in time for the departure from Genova. Just in time ….. One of the guests told me the health and security check and boarding process took place inside the vessel. They were really that close for missing the vessel.

Our boarding process and health check went very smooth and quick, I think within 1,5 hours we accessed the ship. Officially we should have priority access to the vessel as part of the Aurea experience, but Priority access was only available for Yacht club members. Everything was done and approved. Although we had an issue when we received our cruise badge. My wife and myself have the same Silver status and my wife received the Silver cruise card and I received a blue (first time cruiser) card. Based on the Aurea suite we have booked we both should have received the wrist band for easy access and payment. Only my wife received the wristband. The person behind the desk directly stated that we must have made an error during the booking and directly blamed us for the mistake without discussing it. This is not proper customer relationship management. The statement was not correct and we had the printed papers to show it. We were assigned to the receptions desk onboard for the correction. At the reception desk I received my Silver cruise card and wrist band. The first time we tried using it. There was no data on it. So, we switched it for another one (including our data). What we didn’t know was, the wrist band is a farce, it’s not working properly with the onboard tablets use by the staff. It’s takes forever to read the wristband and using the cruise card is a much better and quicker way to order your drinks. You can recognise the first day cruisers by wearing the wristband. When they find out the wrist band is not working they leave it in the cabin for the rest of the cruise. Read more
