We were excited to be back on the high seas and it was our first cruise on an Oasis Classed ship. Our last cruise was in 2018 on Celebrity Reflection. We have been on 15 cruises with several RCCL, Celebrity, Carnival, HAL, and Princess. Celebrity had been our favorite up until the last experience with them. We tired of the endless beatings for the drink packages, automatic tips, reduced offerings and quality of food etc. etc. We decided we'd had enough and really lost a lot of our zest for cruising. Then the Pandemic hit and boy we sure didn't know what we were missing till it was gone! In June When Royal announced they were reopening we couldn't wait to get booked and back out there. I was glad we did!

Booking: We booked guarantee cabin and then had second thoughts when we realized the cabin could open to Central Park or Broadway. When we were assigned an inward facing balcony on Broadway I called to see if I could get an outside balcony. The price to change the booking was going to be about 900 dollars so I decided to just let it be. We then recieved some Royal Up info and bid 125 per person to get an outside. A week before the cruise we got our upgrade and were given Cabin 9590. It was toward the front half of ship on the Starboard side and turned out to be the good side for our dockings. That was blind luck on the trip.

Embarkation: I was given 3:30 and we drove to Canaveral on Sunday and left our home at about 12 p.m. getting to the port at 2 p.m. Parking was a breeze and 1 hour later we were at our room pulling our key and beginning our vacation! Room was beautiful and our steward introduced himself. Avarri was his last name and had us refer to him as that. He was only to happy to help us wherever he could. Very tidy and efficient and never a complaint from us on anything. We left him an extra tip as we felt he was outstanding. Room was immaculate as were all spaces on the ship! Someone always cleaning everything!
