We are Diamond Level and sail on Royal Caribbean as often as we can--usually every 4-6weeks prior to the pandemic. This was our first time on the new Odyssey of the Seas. It is a beautiful ship, chock full of exciting new activities and venus, especially geared to kids and teens. Lots of entertainment for adults, though. We are Casino Royale lovers and this ship has all new machines, the latest Vegas slots and tons of table games. Disappointing that there were only 4 Video Poker machines with lousy paytables. Lots of Multi-line Video Poker but you can't play too long for $3.75 a hand! The Music Hall was a quality venue, as was the Two 70 panoramic club/bar with amazing technology. Do not miss the show called "The Book". It's sensory overload of the finest order. One whole deck is devoted to things like Giant lawn games, basketball, Bumper Cars, Escape Rooms, etc. Kids and Teens will never be bored.
The production shows need some fine tuning--just because it's only just started sailing after Covid and I'm sure they are aligning all their entertainers and productions after a 17 month hiatus.
Speaking of Covid, the protocols in place are top notch. They have thought of everything to keep passengers safe. Nowhere else in this country could any venue do as well as Royal does. The ship was spotless, the crew were all vacinnated and masked. Passengers were also very cognisent of the rules. Everyone except small children were vaccinated, wore masks and practiced social distancing. There were no "Karens" on this cruise. The ship holds 5000 and we had 1500 grateful and fun-loving people on board. DO NOT hesitate to cruise. Don't listen to anyone tell you not to go. You are safer on this ship than you will ever be going to Costco.
Balcony in the Forward section of Deck 13--right off the elevators. Up one floor to Windjammer and Solarium Bistro and straight shot to the 3rd floor for the Casino Royale. Perfect location.
Cozumel is so happy to have tourism back in their port. Great shooping and best reefs for diving and snorkeling.
