La Belle Époque was our first barge cruise and we have already booked another one! The crew was incredibly friendly, professional, and attentive. Service was just outstanding! The food and wines were first class with a chef that always amazed us with his creativity. With only 8 guests, all aspects (touring, dinning, etc) of the barging experience could be personalized. We were also fortunate to barge with 3 other amiable couples.

We barged from Tanlay to Venaray-Les-Launes on the Burgundy Canal. At each lock, you have the opportunity to get off/on to walk and/or bike the towpath. We also did an excursion each day and traveled in the Mercedes van that accompanied the barge. This cruise was truly all-inclusive! There wasn’t a bill at the end of the trip; however, it is suggested that the crew be tipped 5% of the cruise price. We were more than happy to reward this crew for their exemplary service!

Cabin Review

We had the Nuit St-Georges suite on the back of the barge. It was very roomy and the bathroom was modern and clean!
