First time on the Magic, a beautiful, smaller ship and with the 60% capacity or so, you felt as if you almost had a private cruise. No waiting for elevators, and quick, efficient service in the main dining room. The room was only cleaned once a day, but that was fine.

My wife and I love music and love to dance and we had our fill on the Magic. To start they had a fantastic dance band with a great name for a cruise band "Abandonship". They played a wide variety of great dance music and you had a rather large area to move and grove in the Ocean Plaza. In the atrium they had entertainment as well, the main one being three electronic violinists (Electric Waves)who had sound track background and once again played a wide variety of music with space to dance. Scattered around various locations was a single guitar player, and two duos (singer and guitar) (we especially liked Lisette and Tyler-who had danceable songs), DJs and more.

Although we did not get into the piano bar to see Brad, we were able to see his talent on great display in the first of three stage shows, 88 Keys. This one highlighted the many great rock pianists and their hits. We really did enjoy it and gave a standing ovation. However the next two were not our cup of tea. FLICK, while endowed with some great special effects, just did not click for us. AMERICA ROCKS would have been enjoyable if only the sound was not so loud. I know rock concerts are loud, but on a cruise ship you can tone that down yet still show the heightened energy of rock music.
