To start, embarkation was not all that great. We had a 10:30 arrival time. When we arrived I provided our paper boarding passes and was immediately given an attitude because they were printed 2-sided, we had to wait for a supervisor to come and print us new ones. Testing for the little ones went smoothly, after the results were ready we were transferred over to the main check-in area. Once we were all checked in we were told to have a seat and wait as the ship was not ready. Well over an hour later, the terminal was packed wall to wall with standing room only and they were still checking people in. Once they finally started calling boarding groups to board, we were called to walk up the ramps to the gangway. Just before you hit the gangway they scan your (paper) boarding passes, the agent told us that my wife had not been checked in and that we had to step aside and re-provide her passport and have her photo re-taken. Once we were on board, we were able to drop our bags in our cabin. Lunch options were plentiful on embarkation; Mongolian Wok (inside Jiji), Pasta Bella (inside Cucina del Capitano), Lido Buffet, Guy's Burgers, Pig & Anchor, and Blue Iguana. We somewhat expected kids activities to be dramatically reduced; but, what we didn't expect it that they were basically eliminated altogether. We were able to let the kids play at the playgrounds that are just outside Camp Ocean, but even things as simple as the Dr. Seuss Bookville (library for kids) were closed. The MDR food was the same as I can always remember including mostly all of the same menu items. Cucina del Capitano was good, portions were large, and all of the food was very flavorful. Pig & Anchor had good, flavorful food, but some of what we ordered for dinner came out cold which sort of ruined it for us. Jiji was by far our favorite specialty restaurant that we tried; they do not have a dedicated kids menu, however, our little ones still enjoyed the food and ate well. Build a bear was available on 2 different days by appointment only. The arcade was pretty fair size, however, we ran into issues with our cards not working or machines not working and 'charging our cards' multiple times in the one day that we were in there; guest services couldn't explain why or assist us with the issue, they referred us to the casino staff who also told us they had no idea how to help. Masks were required and reasonably enforces at least while entering the MDR and the Lido buffet areas. I feel like shopping venues on other ships have been better than on the Panorama, it seemed as though there were fewer 'Carnival' souvenirs than I have seen in the past; and the liquor store selection was dismal... by far the smallest liquor selection I have seen on any ship. For those with VIFP perks, you basically have to go on a scavenger hunt through the ship to find your perks... then some of the staff have no idea what you are talking about. Examples, your 'pin' can be obtained at Pixels, but some staff have no idea what you are talking about, then the one who did said that they didn't have them and offered something different; or the free water can be obtained at any bar, but several staff have no idea how to 'ring it up'. As usual, the wait staff and cabin stewards were all AMAZING. The testing for kids on the last day of the cruise was also not all that well organized, they apparently gave everybody a letter that said to show up at 10 AM... so you had a line with basically every unvaccinated person on the ship and their families all waiting down a hallway waiting to get into the lounge to get tested. The last day before disembarkation I sought out my cabin steward to ask about luggage tags for disembarkation and was told that I was supposed to go gram tags on Lido; this was never told to us, was never provided on any papers left on our stateroom, and was apparently only ever shared at the disembarkation talk that was scheduled at the same time as the mandatory testing for unvaccinated kids. As we were disembarking the ship my wife was again stopped claiming that she was never checked in and they needed to again take her aside to take another picture of her for the records.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View

The cabin was a nice size with a decent amount of space to move around. The second bathroom was somewhat nice, but honestly didn't get used all that much; we would have honestly just preferred the additional cabin space over the second bathroom. That being said, I was surprised by the size and specifically the depth of the bathtub in the second bathroom.
