This cruise was our second with Viking having done the Rhine a couple years ago. I believe this was the first cruise on the ship TOR for the Danube after the Covid shut down. There were only about 49 passengers -- all covid tested and vaccinated. On the subject of covid, they tested (saliva) very day and left small collection tubes each day which you were to drop off to the main desk every morning. The ports were excellent; guides excellent; and logistics excellent. It would be hard to pick a favorite but Vienna was great all around and we really enjoyed the optional excursion to Salzburg.

With such a small number of cruisers, there was plenty of room everywhere and no crowds--though there rarely were on our full earlier cruise. The staff were wonderful and honestly seemed so pleased to be hosting guests again. Really the service in the dining room was extremely attentive and friendly. The food was above average but I don't think quite as good as our Rhine cruise. Breakfast was at par with the earlier one but the selections for dinner sometimes had me retreating to the standard chicken that was always available.

Viking rooms are clean, efficient and comfortable albeit a bit small. We had a Veranda A and I enjoyed coffee each morning on the Veranda. Not sure Veranda A is a huge difference from Veranda B but we had the Covid credit which gave us money to spend. Out cabin stewardess was 100% on the mark with timing and cleanliness.
