This was my 33 RCCL cruise, and my first time on Freedom of the Seas. This was a rebooked "casino" cruise from a cancelled 2020 cruise. The cruise from Terminal A at the Miami cruiseport. Getting onto the ship was a nightmare. Due to flight schedule, I wound up arriving at 10 am for a 1 pm "scheduled" check in time. There were MANY passenger who had to wait OUTSIDE in the Miami heat and humidity. There was no drinking water available and very few benches to sit for the literally hundreds of passengers. I complained to one of the persons trying to keep order, and was finally provided with a wheel chair and some water. They finally opened the doors to passengers about 12:15 pm. I was finally allowed on board at 1:30pm and my balcony stateroom 6338 was available.

The buffet was opened with a limited menu, and the food was fair at best, beef stew and pork chunks with gravy and mushrooms. The staff was courteous as always. The cruise did not sail till 7:00 PM. My stateroom steward, Aireen was wonderful, and fulfilled all of my requests.

The Diamond Plus had 5 daily drinks loaded on you seapass card for anywhere on the ship at anytime. Beer was $8+ and alcoholic drinks started at $11 and up.

Cabin Review

Spacious Ocean View Balcony

Standard balcony, with a king bed, sofa bed, two outlets a chiller "refrigerator", and a shower bathroom. I had a problem with seagulls on day as the balcony cabin next to me apparently had breakfast out on the balcony and there had to be about 40+ seagulls flying in and out of the adjacent balcony enjoying the remains of breakfast and flying into my balcony space.
