Dining

The service was generally very good – not perfect, but quite good. Note – given only 46 passengers it should have been good. Food was of a good quality and usually well prepared with good taste. A few items were overcooked and a bit tough, but most pretty good. It is not gourmet and doesn’t feature the best ingredients. Do not expect lobster, sole, turbot, caviar, or truffles. A pate, oysters and beef tenderloin were each available once. The beef tenderloin was good, but the sirloin steak was not a very good cut of meat – inferior to any decent steak house. There will always be a meat, fish, and vegetable option but nothing high end. My point is the food is good and there is plenty of it, but it is not up to the standards of a good French Brasserie, let alone restaurant. Personally, the reason I travel is to experience all a country/culture has to offer and the Uniworld experience comes up a bit short in dining.

Cabin Review

Stateroom with French Balcony

We are glad we had a French Balcony as it made the exceptionally small room feel less claustrophobic. The room was clean, very nicely decorated, everything worked, and good storage (given the small space). The AC worked well, and the drapes blocked out all light so we slept well in the comfortable bed. The redone stateroom included up to date technologies with many built in USB a chargers. Housekeeping was generally good although we never seemed to have enough drinking water in the room.
