We wanted to cruise the Columbia River & Snake River because of the scenery. Red Lion Hotel pre cruise 1 night was filthy and lots of bugs in our room. Breakfast was very slow & limited to $12.00 unless we pay the extra.

Embarkation day was ok. Our room was not clean & no towels until late that evening. After 5 days we asked to have the room vacuumed. It was done the next day. Only time during our stay. Also on day 5 the elevator was malfunctioning so we could not use it. They told us it would be fixed within 2 days. Not so. Never fixed. Seniors with mobility problems along with everyone else had to climb the 2 to 4 flights to get to their cabins. Some on hands & knees. Our cabin ran out of toilet paper. There was no spare roll so we had to call the office. Housekeeping line did not work. Dining was sooo slow. An average of 1 1/2 hr. wait or more for every meal. One day we waited for breakfast that never came before our tour bus was boarding. Wait time then was more than 1 1/2hr. Ran out of several items. Most of the wait staff tried hard but could not deliver what the kitchen did not cook. Meals were often cold. Often delivered one item at a time instead of the whole meal at a time. Burnt toast, etc.

When we booked this cruise, we were told at 60% capacity. But the ship was fully booked and understaffed & undertrained. Table in the hall on 2nd floor was so dusty, I wrote "Clean me" with my finger in the dust. It was finally cleaned on day 8. We also never saw anyone clean handrails on stairs. Ship not cleaned to CDC guidelines or anyone's guidelines. The ship was in disrepair. Paddle wheel was missing boards & paint. Not a pretty picture.
