In writing this review I am comparing with the other cruise lines I have been with. These include P&O, Princess and Marella formerly known as TUI (Thompson). I have to say I have never been on a bad cruise (14 so far) and I always wonder why people leave such low scores. Yes, I too have had issues on a ship but they have always resolved them with no stress. However, I have witnessed Mr and Mrs Angry at the desk giving the riot act and politeness goes much further in life. The quality of certain areas on board may vary but none of them have ever caused me to give a score lower than 4/5.

The QE is a fantastic ship with plenty of room and a great area at the rear for sail away parties. The food is very good and if you talk to your waiter they will do everything possible to satisfy your meal experience. The first rule of cruising should be talk to the manager of the area you have the issue, not reception. You will find them more accommodating. In the standard restaurant (Britannia) I never felt the need to eat at the additional restaurants. Lobster tail, Chateau Briand etc.. The theatre has wonderful feel about it and it does feel like you are in a London West End theatre. Gym is very good with all the facilities you need. Entertainment is great. The is no snobbery on Cunard but there are standards around dress code in the evenings and many people like to dress up and make the most of it because let's face most people don't on a day to day basis so it adds to the experience in my opinion. Everyone has a favourite cruise line or ship but in reality my experience has been fantastic on all my cruises.
