Sail Date: Jul 2021

We were kindly invited to join a friend (who I had worked with for 4 months on an NHS Test & Trace mobile testing unit) and her partner on this 2-night sailing as they wanted to try it to see if they would like cruising. Obviously, they were conscious that with all the current COVID-19 protocols in place, this sailing would not be like any ‘normal’ cruise, but hopefully it would give them a good idea what life is like onboard a cruise ship and whether it is for them.

As we had booked a sailing from Muscat on Marella Discovery 2 for April 2022, it would be a good opportunity for us to see how Marella operate. Unfortunately, our Discovery 2 sailing was cancelled as the ship will not be deployed to the Far East in 2022 and returning to Europe, of which our sailing was part of that return journey.

This sailing was scheduled to depart Newcastle on July 10th, sail along the coast of the north of England and returning on Monday, 12th.
