My wife and I took this cruise because it was the only one we could find running post pandemic. The reviews were pretty good but the cost was much more than a larger cruise ship. We thought being on a smaller ship we would get more personal service. Also we thought the ship would be more elegant. We were wrong and new it as soon as we stepped on board. Some of the staff walked off the ship and quit as we were coming aboard. The staff that stayed were very inexperienced.because they were short handed everyone was trying to do everyone’s else's job. Our room did not get completely made up until the second day, meaning towels and pillow cases. Every evening at diner the topic of discussion with the other guest was how screwed up everything was. We asked the cruise director the day before our port in Bath Maine what there was to do and she said I hate it when people ask me that because I’ve never been there so I don’t no. At the 5:30 cocktail hour no bartenders showed up the passengers started mixing there own drinks. The same director showed up and got mad. When my wife finally got to the head of the line to get a drink she told her she didn’t have time to mix her one she would have to drink wine. There was supposed to be a small break counter for snacks ( hamburgers or hotdogs) for between meal snacks. It never opened the whole trip. We got granola bars or chips. Every night the ship ran out of choices for your entree’s and deserts. I would never again invest the money we did on this cruise line again. (American Cruise Line) I blame the corporate office for letting them sail without the proper staffing and lack of provisions. The crew offered excuses and apologies , but no incentive for another cruise.
