Sail Date: Jan 1970

I traveled with my girlfriend in September 2019, we sailed Ionian islands of Greece. We ran across the company merely by chance, through a recommendation by an American friend, they did their alumni cruise on board the ship. There was no agent in Malta, so it took a bit of an effort to find the webpage, and search the web for reviews, which were few. Finally, we booked directly, with 30% off for early booking, it all ran smoothly, the only thing there was no paying online, and so I had to wire the funds. The cruise started and ended in Corfu, we arrived via Athens, the seaport in Corfu is only about 15 min from the airport, and after the cruise we spent another week on the island, at a boutique hotel Eleals (highly recommended!).

Now, RUNNING ON WAVES is not much of your normal cruise line. More like a huge leisure yacht. We were only 30 something altogether, and about 20 crew. That was our first time under sail. Somehow, it felt like we were out on an adventure, but a very comfortable one. All the crew take genuine pleasure in what they do, and the managers Robert and Claudia are just amazing. They tend to every guest in a very easy-going manner, and we surely felt taken care of.

They met us at the pier, embarkation was instant, accompanied by a glass of sparkling wine.
