DH and I are from Upstate NY and are in our early 60's. Of course, Covid wiped out two cruises we had scheduled in 2020 and two in 2021; our TA called and wondered if we'd be interested in an American Cruise Lines sailing. She had recommended the Columbia/Snake River cruise, but I saw the Puget Sound cruise and thought I'd like to try it.

Covid added some extra requirements; we had to submit negative PCR tests several days before the cruise, had to be tested again before boarding the ship, and had to show proof of vaccination. Some of this was ACL, some was Washington State. I can say I was very comfortable with all the precautions taken both before and during the cruise.

We arrived in Seattle the day before the cruise and had booked ACL's pre-cruise hotel, which was the Crowne Plaza downtown. The morning of the cruise the ship's medical officer came to the hotel to conduct the pre-boarding Covid test, and then we boarded a bus for a Seattle tour before taking us to Shilshole Bay Marina, where American Spirit docks. We liked the tour.

Cabin Review

Cabin AAC

The cabins are spacious and comfortable. Our cabin was 219, all the way aft and next to the deck where thee ship's launch is stowed. They use the launch in Friday Harbor and Poulsbo, and there is some noise - but not when you're sleeping.
