After 16 months of shielding with very elderly family, this was a mental health break for me alone. Yes there were limitations and requirements, the PCR test in the morning was a challenge but if thats what it takes to have this time on a lovely ship, with a great cabin and so very very well looked after - happy to do so. Crew were amazing, couldnt do enough for you, nothing too much trouble. Meals were so good, not a big foodie but I loved everything - allergies were noted and each day the menu for the Restaurant was sent to my cabin so I could select items suitable and when I checked into the Chefs Table and Manfredi's, the maitre 'd already had adjusted the menu to accommodate. I even had a hamburger (first in years) cooked to order in the Pool Bar - so good

Enrichment was interesting - Sofia and Laurence the classical performers worth going down to listen too and I even watched a movie one evening with popcorn and a beer (another thing I havent done in years) so relaxing.

This was my first time on Viking, confirmed Cunarder, booking something for 2022 although I know it will no be exactly the same with many more passengers etc but the ship size, the attention to detail all sold me on Viking.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda Stateroom

Nice size, comfy bed, had to request a kettle as I dont drink coffee - not a problem and fresh milk and teabags replenished daily by the super attentive cabin stewards
