My husband and I had a wonderful time aboard the Independence, beginning in Fernadina Beach, FL, and sailing to Charleston, SC.

Along the way we had great excursions to great port cities and barrier islands in the Atlantic. Stops included Amelia Island, the amazing Jekyll island, St. Simon Island with its interesting military history, spotting porpoises in the waters off of Hilton Head, seeing Beaufort and hearing about the gossip surrounding movie making, touring the wonderful squares of Savannah, and visiting and hearing about Charleston’s colorful past. A truly great adventure on the Intercoastal waterway.

When aboard ship? We had great food, super nightly cocktail parties, top/notch entertainment, a wide variety of on-board activities including board games, workout equipment, arts and crafts classes, and specialty events such as embarkation Bloody Mary gatherings. The best thing, though, was the attentiveness of all of the crew members to all passengers. They could not have been more caring.
