We did Alaska early June. I think you'd do better to do a combo land /sea tour if you really want to feel like you were in Alaska. Here is a quick review;

I loved the piano bar, service great and piano guy was great!

The ship overall is like a small city, but didn't feel too crowded. Pools are a waste in Alaska, but Solarium was nice for adults only. We did I-fly, they were organized but you only get a few minutes. No flow rider - too cold. Kids/teen centers were trying. We had some difficulty, they were very strict, I have two boys one could use teen but other was just on the below the age limit by 1 year, the kids club was too young and he wanted to be with his brother and they were not easy to work with on this so they never ended up going. I feel this should be an easy request if you are within a year and to stay with a sibling but no it was a struggle and bust. They made my son since for two hours with the little kids for an evaluation, etc. It was a major hassle and disappointment and ruined it for him. Entertainment area was good for kids with xbox and ping/pong. Bumber cars ok/you need to line up. Theaters are beautiful but entertainment was ok. I feel like they tried but it's such a weird vibe. The whole vibe on the ship was a little off, I think it's just because t's Alaska. Also dining room was not friendly and they tried to dance around but they didn't look into it and it was just awkward. Staff didn't look excited to be there. Big disappointment was there was no party when we took off from Seattle. It was a great sunny, warm afternoon but nothing????? I feel the ship is a bit too big for Alaska, and we were not able to get to Tracy Arm, and had to turn around, that was disappointing. Casino was fun, windjammer had best food unless you had specialty. We ate breakfast once in the dining room and it was cold and horrible. Hash was not even cooked it looked like spam from a can. We also had a room as the back of the boat which was a long walk to the elevators and the entertainment going on in the front of the boat. My son watched a movie on the deck one night and they had blankets so he enjoyed it. Over all the ship is nice but it's Alaska and it was far from a fun vibe... just my opinion. We did helicopter in Juneau which was great as the town was a bit of a let down, Skagway, we did the train and it was long and boring. We didn't see any wildlife. That's it, so not much Alaska just sitting watching the view, boat nice was food was disappointment. Coffee was a wait in the morning.

Cabin Review

we were the last cabin on the 11th floor in the back, it was fine but long walk to the elevators.
