Cousin Cookie (Jonathan Adams) made this cruise a success.
Our cruise neighbor
Meet Dirty Santa

This Christmas we had the best Carnival cruise on the Glory we had in twenty cruises. I have been on twenty cruises and I can only remember one cruise Director from the Liberty, Stitch was his name. The rest are a blur until this Christmas we met Cousin Cookie (Jonathan Adams). OMG! He made this cruise the best Carnival cruise ever.

Can you imagine eating lunch on Friday afternoon the day before you are scheduled to leave on your Christmas vacation and hearing your ship just collided with another ship Well that is exactly what happened to us this Christmas. I immediately called Carnival, they stated Glory will be sailing or they will find us a cruise sailing and make the substitution. Now I teach third grade and really didn’t care where I was going just as long as I WENT! We arrived in New Orleans around ten that morning. We brought the Carnival transport for 23.00 dollars from the airport. Very convenient! We waited about ten minutes for the shuttle. We took the shuttle back for 23.00 for two. There she was with a big hole in her back! The crew was working on her to make the needed repairs. We decided if she could sail back from Cozumel them she could take us to Cozumel. Cruising with Carnival as long as we have I was very surprised not to see any passengers leaving the ship. They had not started disembarkation. So that mean the rest of us had to wait. The Terminal Manager suggested we walk over to the Riverwalk Outlet Mall, which happened to be closed. So many of us stuck in the rain waiting for the mall to open or the terminal to open. So we called an Uber and made a morning run to Wal Mart. We asked the Uber driver to wait and paid the extra. The total came to about 15.00. Wal Mart is basically around the corner from the terminal. When we returned the terminal was open, however we missed our platinum terminal experience. We were scheduled to leave at midnight, however when we awaken the next morning. we were still in New Orleans. We actually left around ten that morning. As we cruised down the Mississippi to the Gulf, there were folks from New Orleans who gave us historical information about the towns and areas along the river path.

We have been on at least twenty Carnival cruises, this is the first time we really enjoyed the Cruise Director. Welcome “Cousin” Cookie. He was the best cruise director we have ever had on Carnival Cruise. We usually just endure the life boat drills, however Cousin Cooke made us laugh, if we would have hit an iceberg, I actually would know what to do because he was so entertaining. Every event that he played a part in was just the best fun ever. His team was really prepared for a great cruise. It was evident the crew was going out of their way to make this a wonderful cruise considering the ship had a hole in her back. Our original dining room table was right in front of the hole. We were moved to a different table with 6 of the most interesting people. Every evening we would sit and solve the problems of world. The conversation was rich and lively each evening. The evening activities were the best on a Carnival ship. Usually after the late night comedy it was boring and we went to bed. All the evening activities were fun. DeeJay played music for all ages and all tastes, The Christmas costume parade was filled with families dressed as gift, trees, elves, and even a Dirty Santa. The Lip-sync games was too funny. The Motown night was way too much fun. We knew every song and the passengers sang every song very loud and somewhat on key. Cousin Cookie taught a new step dance every evening. The dining room staff danced every night. This really was an awesome cruise. I’m pretty sure the hole in back made a difference on this cruise.
