Cabin: Penthouse with Large Balcony

We took our daughter on this cruise for her birthday. We were in a Penthouse Suite with Balcony which was very spacious - great bathroom with double sinks making early morning preparations a breeze. Had a problem with plumbing mid cruise but the staff took care of the problem within the day. We didn't use the concierge as we are pretty self-reliant but our butler helped my daughter find her sweater left in Cagney's on embarkation day - very much appreciated her. Dining was great - we had breakfast in both the buffet and Cagney's (perk for being in Suites) and both were good. Had dinner in Cagney's, Teppanyaki, and Le Bistro. Le Bistro especially was excellent! Didn't take in shows, etc. since we were out in port every day all day and frankly too tired at end of the day. This was our 2nd Hawaiian cruise on Pride of America and we will definitely cruise on this ship again!

Cabin Review

Penthouse with Large Balcony

Beautiful, spacious cabin - loved the large bathroom with double sinks making morning preparation for 3 people very easy. Lots of storage and big balcony with table/4 chairs, and 2 loungers.

Port Reviews

Maui

We rented our own car in Maui and took part of the Road to Hana as we had reservations the first evening at Old Lahaina Luau. Second day in Maui we drove up to Haleakala Crater and just drove around looking at various beaches.

Honolulu

Stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort which was wonderful - restaurants right onsite and a warm, welcoming staff. We had a great time at Kualoa Ranch Jungle Expedition tour and also visited Byodo-In Temple. Both highly recommended!

Hilo

We again rented our own car in Hilo. Went to see the new black sand beach created at Isaac Hale Park, bought yummy cookies and candies at Big Island Candies, and took in the beautiful Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens.

Kauai

The weather did not cooperate with us in Kauai. It rained all day due to a tropical disturbance on the first day. We tried a lookout in Waimea Canyon State Park but everything was fogged in! We stopped at Salty Wahine in Hanapepe and stocked up on all sorts of Hawaiian Sea Salts. The staff was very helpful and made shipping back to the mainland very easy. We celebrated our daughter's birthday at Duke's Kauai on Kalapaki Beach. The food was really good!
