We were going on our Golden Wedding cruise with two !o g standing friends over Christmas for the first time. A cruise which had been looking to for many months which was ruined by poor service from the start. Destinations changed and replaced by ports and cut short timings in port on a number of occasions with little consideration for passengers. One old couple never even got off the boat having asked for assistance. A.real bargain basement holiday at having booked early was at a premium price. Never again and have asked to come off Newmarket Travels data base. We have been treated by CM V when we complained with total impumitiy. You have to like a lot of bread and butter pudding and cheap sausages and you will like the food. This is a 3 star cruise ship over 30 years o!d. Don't take my word for it, just look up Magellan on you tube for a behind the scenes look.

Cabin Review

We had asked for a double bed. This was our Golden Wedding cruise. We were given single beds. Clean, but very basic indeed. Very limited TV programmes. No fridge so if you had a y medicines to be kept cold, no chance. Even though the weather forecast was not good I had questioned CM V about the itinery and I was to!d if I caused a fuss at Tilbury when boarding I would be put off the ship. A great start don't you think. I u understand the sea, have my own yacht on the south coast and am qualified with a great .any hours in command. I knew what we were in for. On board ing I quiet!y asked about the itinery and was told no alterations. We sailed on time to Rotterdam and left that evening having picked up more passengers, it was then we were told about us going to Cherbourg. 2 days there where almost 50 passengers got off after. massive changes made to the itinery. Between there and Cape Verde we sent 3 hours ashore in a container port in Morocco on Boxing Day. We missed 4 main destinations including Tenerife fireworks on new years eve.

We suffered sub.standard level of service due to poor training. On a ship with britis h passengers they have crew with very poor english. Up to 9 unhosted activities a day. Recycled, many times Christmas decorations. Many passengers going around coughing because of what they ca!!ed the Mage!!an Cough. One couple we spoke to were going home with a bill from the medical centre for £3,600 for treatment for a cough! They felt it was defective air con. In the cabins. For us and our friends the best part of this never again with CMV was getting off My advice to anyone considering going on these bargain basement pound shop cruises is think again. You will be treated with very !little respect in your dea!ings with this 3star company once they have got your hard earned money. We had an experience we will never forget as having been in the real Raffles they do not have cheap plastic garden chairs to sit on.
