We thought we would try Norwegian Cruises - really liked the route and got a great deal on a mini suite. I had visions of a large cabin and large balcony - not so much. Cabin was well appointed but indistinguishable from balconies on Celebrity or RCC.
Service and food were hit and miss. We really enjoyed the Manhattan Dining Room where the service and food quality was better than Taste or Savor (which was odd considering they have the same menu.) Loved O'Sheehans Pub, we ate lunch there every day and food quality and service always good. Shows were quite entertaining - thought the idea of the Supper Club was brilliant - but the food there was bland (altho service good.) NCL has a very loud and somewhat raucous crowd, so we purchased passes to the VIBE private lounge. Definitely worth it - quiet and super pleasant - but not cheap at $209 USD per person. Only one hot tub, and it was broken.
We could not figure out the stateroom attendant. Seemed nice enough, but brought a power bar when we asked for an extension cord for my husband's CPAP machine; this was weird given he said he had worked on cruise ships for 10 years and that he was a 'suite' attendant.
