We chose this cruise to see Antarctica. We had been booked originally with HAL but after doing an EXC Holland America cruise through the Pacific last April we decided to cancel. We wanted a cruise that had some entertainment for the many sea days. This was our first cruise on Celebrity and we were very happy with most things.
Our cabin was nice on the 10th floor mid ship Concierge class. I don't think I would bother with Concierge class again, it's the same as an ordinary balcony cabin and the so called extra perks were not worth the extra money. We had to ask our steward for better towels as the ones we had were threadbare, not deluxe fluffy ones as stated. Everything we paid extra for was standard in a HAL balcony. The website gives a lot of extra perks but in reality when you get on board the list has been cut by half.
The weather on the cruise was perfect. We had calm seas, sunshine and warmth. The previous cruise had fog and rough weather. Captain Leo was amazed at the difference and said that in 11 cruises he's done to Antarctica it was the best he'd experienced. Weren't we lucky!
Balcony cabin midship. Good location near library and lifts. Average size for a cruise ship, plenty of storage, cases fit under bed. Didn't like that the walls stepped in, cut down on space. Lounge hard and uncomfortable.
Stayed in Buenos Aires 3 times during this holiday. Lively place with plenty to do. Visit the markets, Opera House, Cathedral and do a Hop on Hop off bus.
Walked around the town, went to a nice cafe for lunch, thought you were in an english village. People on the cruise went to a farm, very disappointed.
Walked around the city seeing the sights, easy to do. Vibrant place, saw dancers and bands in the street. Good shopping. Went to the Market Hall restaurants near the port. Lively with music, racks of lambs and steaks cooking and a huge choice of food - loved it!
