Rarely have I been so disappointed by a cruise.

I booked, what was promised to be an "Expedition" cruise through the Indonesian archipelago, from Singapore to Darwin.

The supposed highlight of this cruise (and the main reason why I booked it) was the exclusive visit to an Orang-utan rehabilitation project in the Tanjung Puting National Park on Borneo.

Cabin Review

Small cabin, about a third smaller than on Seabourn and no walk-in wardrobe.

Nicely appointed in mid-century style (if you like that; fellow passengers referred to it as "Early IKEA").

Hermès bathroom ammenities. Toilet separated from bathroom, which I like.

Unfortunately there seems to be a problem in this category of cabins on the 6th deck whilst cruising near the equator, to which the ship's engineer admitted to. The air conditioning in the cabin did not work for three days and for a ship of this calibre it is unforgiving that the temperature in a cabin is higher than 25 degrees Centigrades and the only way to solve the problem to open up the wall-cover to gain direct access to the air condition shaft. And this produced a noise of 60 decibels (comparable to lawn mower ten meters away) for one night.
